Minion DHR II 3C/Double Down/TR Tire
Whether you're rolling loose, floaty trails or fast-rolling hardpack, the Maxxis Minion DHR II 3C/Double Down/TR 29in Tire's versatility makes it a go-to choice for downhill and freeride adventures. The DHR borrows the shoulder lugs from its sibling, the DHF to take on a slightly wider stance than the original DHR. The center lugs, which were once completely separated, are now nearly joined for a bit of a paddle effect. Together these improvements mean better cornering and improved braking, especially in loose conditions.
Maxxis' Double Down dual-ply casing construction provides slightly heavier, downhill-worthy protection compared to EXO. While this does add a bit of weight, it makes up for that small compromise with increased durability through hard-charging runs and heart-dropping descents.

Great grip and protection, short life
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Four years after someone else reviewed saying there was a durability issue, there?s still a durability issue. I don?t understand why. There?s also a LOT of feathering in the sidewalls. Never had this issue with EXO casing with supposedly the same 3C maxterra rubber compound but I?m not buying that. Tempted to just run an insert and EXO casing? All that being said, it?s still a DHR2.
