Why We Like The Merrell Coldpack 3 Thermo Mid WP Boot
Designed for winter coverage without the bulk, the Merrell Coldpack 3 Thermo Mid WP Boot keeps our toes warm and dry on winter treks. The key to this coverage lies just underneath the durable leather upper. A waterproof and breathable membrane seals our the weather, while a plush fleece insulation seals in the heat while pulling moisture off of your socks. This coverage allows us to trust the reliable traction of the Vibram outsole on crunchy and frozen trails.

Great for cold and wet conditions
This is my second pair and my first pair are still in use after countless trail walks. Never had a sore spot after all those miles and steep terrain. I now alternate them, one for the trails & one for around town.g

Not worth it
The artic grip traction is hyped it's icy here gave them a try and they still slip on ice I didn't feel any sort of traction gripping or anything different from my normal work boots tbh They are warm but the laces suck and come undone way too easily

Men’s Coldpack 3 Thermo mid waterproof boots
I purchased these for my husband. He Loves the fit and the style but has not been able to try them out in cold weather yet. We shall see how they do when it’s cold out.

Good mid-hiker
Size is true so if you wear thick socks get 1/2 size larger. I’ve been hiking with these in Slovakia, they are warm and comfortable. I have had these for 2 months

They are the real deal!
As advertised - they are warm and they are waterproof. I am a huge fan of Merrill's having owned 5 or 6 pair of Moab 2's but even when they are marketed a such, they are not waterproof. Two years ago I did find a pair of Merrill's that were waterproof but when the uppers finally gave way, this particular model had disappeared from their website. Enter the Thermo Mid Waterproof. I don't know if these are the next step in the evolutionary development of the previous outdoor Merrill boot but these are better on every level. They are warm, they are waterproof and they are comfortable for any activity I asked of them outdoors. As a real "waterproof" and insulated boot, you don't want to wear them indoors all day because your feet will sweat, but in the snow or in the rain, they will keep your feet warm and dry. The sole tracks are deep so they offer excellent traction and they give you great confidence, especially in changing conditions and on inclined trails.

the shoes performed well
i used them to hike a snow covered, tamped down, trail in Breckenridge Colorado. I also used them to walk around the town of Breckenridge as well. the shoes performed well. i have only used them for one week, so i cannot talk about durability
