Why We Like The Merrell Moab Speed 2 LTR WP Hiking Shoe
New for 2024, Merrell has added a leather option to its Speed line with the Moab Speed 2 LTR Waterproof hiking shoe. The new leather uppers add more abrasion resistance and another layer of protection on top of a waterproof membrane to keep our feet drier on puddley paths, dewy grass, and snowy sidewalks. The Speed 2 remains more streamlined than the original Moab with the same Vibram outsoles that we trust for durable, all-purpose traction.

Kinda wide
I love the sneakers. Very comfortable under foot. I don’t have a wide foot, the sneakers are wide around the ankle part. I have to wear arch support. I usually remove the original footbed & add my arch support. With these I had to leave in the footbed & add my arch support on top. The shoe isn’t too long for my foot either.

Comfortable and not bad looking with biz clothes
Bought these to wear with pants for my office job as my feet are a bit arthritic. This is my 7th pair of Merrells (!). These look ok for my specific situation. My feet feel good when pounding the pavement. However l wish they fit as well as my Moab 3’s. The heel comes up a bit which I don’t like.

Provides feet support
Light and gives good feet support but needs time to break in. I bought this and wore the following day. 2nd day, we hoked in Kuta Tjuta national park as was reliable in rocky grounds. The shoe laces get loose and had to redo them to prevent twisting the ankle.

Best multi purpose weather resistant shoe
Excellent quality. Worked a treat in winter in Japan. Understated look that doesn’t scream hiking shoe.

Amsterdam and beyond
I would like more size options Otherwise I am pleased with the overall comfort and warmth of the shoes when walking for kilometers in mixed weather and freezing temperatures.

Perfect urban/trail travel shoe; runs large
Just back from two weeks in Ireland with the black pair; apart from unfortunately being too big (bought the same size as my Moab 3s), they are the perfect urban hiker. I chose them for their neutral, non-logo'd appearance and reliable Merrell comfort. Yes, they are a bit stiff at first but like all Merrells they get better every wear. I will likely give this (now perfectly broken in) pair to a friend and look for a replacement.

Versatile
The color drew me to them but the style and fit made me love them! Waterproof, great cross between a sneaker and a hiking shoe, and true to size.

Disappointed with expensive shoes
I recently purchased these shoes, and unfortunately, they’ve been a big disappointment. First, the shoelaces started fraying within a few days, with threads coming out, making them look worn out too quickly. On top of that, these shoes gave me terrible shoe bites, causing discomfort after just a short time wearing them. To make matters worse, they feel incredibly heavy to walk in, making even short distances a challenge. I expected much better quality for the price, but these have been uncomfortable and not worth the hassle.

Perfect product
I am a person who struggles to find shoes that fit and are comfortable. These shoes are perfect.
