Why We Like The Merrell Moab Speed 2 Thermo Mid WP Boot
To keep our toes cozy dry and our feet feeling light when trekking snow and ice covered trails, we lace into Merrell's Moab Speed 2 Thermo Mid WP Boot. The tall collar, gusseted tongue, built-in rock plate, and burly toe cap fights off trail debris and hidden rocks, while the heat-trapping fill and waterproof membrane shield us from the cold and the wet. Armor aside, the cushy midsole foam and biting outsole rubber stave off fatigue-causing distance and slips, affording us the energy to explore more.

Warm and dry in the snow
I love the traction in the snow. They kept my feet warm on a cold day snowmobiling.

Comfortable straight out of the box
This is my fourth pair of Merrell boots in about 5 years. As usual comfortable straight out of the box. This is the first pair with insulation. I wear these boots as much as 16 hours a day. The only item that I feel that should be an option is round boot laces. The flat laces are difficult for me to pull and get tight enough. Thank you for a good boot at a good price.

Nice impression except lacing
I have had several Merrell products I have loved. Based on that experience, I ordered these boots off the internet without trying on first. I haven't used them much yet, but my initial impression is that the quality matches up to my expectations, and I like them except for one important thing. I dislike the lacing system, and the very thin laces. The photo shows a normal Merrell boot lace for comparison, and boot design making use of normal laces difficult.

I took these to Everest
I took these to Everest Base Camp and loved them. Everyone else got blisters with equivalent quality boots. I didn't get one for the entire trip. They are light, warm, and waterproof. They grip well and are sturdy. My ankles are shot so I depend on them and I relied on their lighter weight to avoid wearing me out. I'll never willingly hike in any other boots in the mountains again.

Cold weather
Fit was good and traction was great in snow and ice.

Excellent boots, lousy laces
Solid feel and design, rugged, warmth in bitter cold, waterproof in snow, and comfortable to wear; these boots are well worth the price and are highly recommended. My only complaints are the chintzy laces (which I immediately replaced), and the many reflective strips, which I ended up coloring in with black marker. I don’t know why companies think we want boots that are reflective. When I hike, I want to blend in with nature, not give off reflected light. This is why I gave four stars instead of five. Nevertheless, a quality boot.

Warm winter hiking boots.
As advertised! Warm, comfortable, better traction than regular boots. First shoes or boots for which I might not need to replace the insoles! I often have a hard time finding a good fit with shoes and boots, but these are rather good - and a nice, wide forefoot!

Unhappy. Would like to return.
Very disappointed in these boots. The sole is thin and uncomfortable. I would like to return them but I don't know how.

Moab Speed 2 Thermo Mid Waterproof
I've had my "Moab Speed 2 Thermo Mid Waterproof" for about a month now ... SO far I am enjoying them when I go snowshoeing or on a walk around town ... My feet are nice and warm ... I have wide feet so they are a bit narrow ... So a "wide" option would be nice ...
