Why We Like The Merrell Mtl Long Sky 2 Trail Running Shoe
When regularly clearing double-digit miles on trail, we rely on the Merrell Mtl Long Sky 2 Trail Running Shoe to keep our feet and stride happy. The reinforced mesh upper lets our feet breathe easy and dries off quick after bounding through mud and rivulets, while the Vibram Megagrip sole keeps our strikes and toe offs secure with its sticky rubber compound and earth-eating lugs. As we stride from valley to ridgeline and back, the internal bootie keeps our foot comfortably locked over the platform's plush foam that keeps the ground feeling soft no matter what's underfoot.

Tough Mudder
This my 4th pair of shoes. I love them. I do tough mudder runs. They work great for the run.

Amazing fit
I trained and raced in these for a trail 100k and I was pleased. We ran on mostly dirt and pine bed trails but plenty of roots, rocks, snow, rain and mud and these babies pushed through it all. They are not a padded sneaker but fit nicely on my feet. It took two shorter runs to get used to the less cushion sneaker but, in the trails, they felt perfect. The only reason I will not give a 5 star review is the tearing which turned into holes just inside of where your big toe is. It is exactly where the sneaker creases. See pictures. I did get 567 miles out of them which is great. I would be able to get more if they didn't rip. What is the warranty like for these? š

Good grip
Not a max cushioned shoe. Not too comfortable. Insole is very thin. Replaced with a better insole.

Nice, all around hiker
I was very pleased with the MTL Long Sky 2. These fit me much better than the Moab Speed, which was narrow for my foot. I love the tongue design of the shoe as it adds great stability on technical terrain. I've used these for hiking, but am not a trail runner, so I cannot comment on how they work for running. I definitely would recommend for hiking and casual use

Great shoe, doesn't last!
Use this mainly for trail and some road running. Very comfortable running shoe. Had to buy longer laces to be able to lace up the trainer. After approximately 400km both shoes are torn at the point where the toeguard is attached to the upper mesh at the toebox. The tread is fairly well worn compared to other similar shoes. Not impressed for a shoe at this price.

Perfect for my feet.
I love these. They have a built in arch so I didn't have to add insoles. I am wearing them a lot!

Good trail runner
Good runner that is good around town. I live in the humid South and these shoes are cool.

No complaints for shorter runs
I use this exclusively for running technical and shorter trails (under 12 miles) in the PNW, and they work awesome. I would not recommend them for running distance or for fire roads as the midsole is not very cushioned. Highly recommend.
