Comfortable light hike boot
Very Comfortable, had to skip a middle lace buckle as it caused string to pinch into top of foot, but no issues since

My first Merrel shoes
I love, love, love these shoes. They are stylish and well made. Overall, they are quite comfortable, BUT are lacking comfort/cushion in the heel area. Maybe it is just me! I tend to be very hard on shoes and sneakers. My plantar fasciitis might be to blame, but nothing a 50 dollar insole won't remedy. Carry on!!! Would I buy Merrel shoes again? YES, if the price is right!

Didn't last very long
Mine made it a little past 2 years and 100 miles before the waterproof membrane in one boot failed. It's a shame, I absolutely loved them.

Not as advertised
Let me start by saying I have purchased many pairs of Moab’s in the past with no issues. The speed solo IS NOT waterproof. I work in an office and wore these on a day after a hard rain. Well I stepped in one puddle ( not deep and did not splash inside the boot) and the inside of my boots were wet. Maybe these would be good for hiking in Arizona, but nowhere that is a bit wet. At least they look cool.

Loving my shoes
Granted it has only been a few weeks, but so far comfort is great and they do seem to be waterproof. I have been wearing them in the snow and rain and my socks have stayed dry. I did follow the recommendation I saw to order a half size larger and that was good as it is a perfect fit.

Made For My Walks
This pair of Merrill's is my second of this type: moderate hiking, lightweight, durable, comfortable, and waterproof. These are all qualities I find very desirable for the type of walking I do. I am not an avid trail hiker and do most of my walking in my residential neighborhood in Portland, Oregon. My walks are frequent, usually 2 miles, covering varied terrain (sidewalks, park fields, and city pathways) and routes. I am more the flaneur than the inveterate hiker. My Merrill’s are very supportive and comfortable, and their being waterproof is a particularly appreciated quality for Portland’s rainy late falls and winters. Wet grass…no problem! To boot (no pun intended here) they are also attractively designed.

Comfortable shoes. One shoe has an issue.
Comfortable and fun with one issue. I noticed after wearing them ONCE, that the right shoe makes a popping sound with every step. I can feel material in the shoe flexing and popping under the toes on my right foot with each step. I would give the review 5/5 if it weren’t for what seems like a manufacturing flaw on one shoe.

Love'em!
I own a bunch a Merrells, they hold up well and are light and comfortable. I liked the way these looked. they are a little different from previous Merrill high-tops I've owned. they are super light and VERY comfortable. so far i am impressed. I sell land for a living and am in the office one minute then in the woods the next. My shoes and boots are important. These are a win:)
