Very disappointed
I thought I would love these boots. I have been a happy Merril customer for many years. When I first bought these boots I loved them. But after my third wearing, I had a painful blister above the back of my heel where there is a hard seam that forms a ridge. I have a pair of low trail shoes from the same barefoot line that are great. But the high boots are a problem. I'm very disapppointed with them.

Not barefoot shoe
Great quality but not the right fit for me. Vapor Glove and Trail Glove I have in size 11 fitting perfectly. These I intended to use as winter boots and I really wanted to fit me, I tried both mid and regular wrapt and had to return all. 11.5 mid fits small lengthwise, 12 mid the arch support is not in the right spot. I don't want arch support in my barefoot shoes to start with. The regular wrapt I tried in 11 and 11.5 respectively (they run smaller than the mid) and had the same problem, also returned. I wish Merrell made a proper barefoot winter shoe. Wrapt is not it.

Improvements i would like to see made to the Water
Better heal cup. The heal could be better held in place with a heal cup.

Minimalist boot by Merrell
I really like these minimalist boots. Super comfortable. Not too much sole between your foot and the ground, but still doesn't feel to thin.

This shoe takes me places
Merrill asked me where I took this shoe when they should ask where the shoe took me. This shoe is light and comfortable, an all day wear from day one. Size seems right on, a 10.5 for me. The grip is good and shoe is plenty stable. I walk several miles every morning and can say, these shoes take me places.

Great fit for wide feet.
I wish all shoe/boot companies would move towards making the toe box of their shoes and boots like these. Having wide feet, I always buy wide-fitting models, but it seems the tips of the footwear always scrunched into a point. A previous reviewer noted that the lace keeper may break, so with that in mind, I take it easy lacing them up. No problems, great fit out of the box.

The best shoe purchase I've made in a while
These boots are amazing and exactly what I've been looking for. For me nothing beats a wide toe box, barefoot-style shoe, and I generally prefer zero-drop as well. And this is the best shoe purchase I've made in a while. The issue I've had with boots/shoes from other manufacturers in this category is that the sole is a weak spot. I abuse my shoes. They tend to see a lot of rough terrain, conditions, and general wear. From first inspection of these boots, I was pretty confident they'd last me longer than I am used to. The way the sole is designed to attach to the upper means that this boot will withstand a lot of stress on that area and should ultimately mean that my sole isn't falling apart at these points like with some other boots. The boots also feel sturdy and well made. Importantly, these boots are super comfortable. I've put these through the motions and honestly love wearing them because they feel great on my feet, and my feet feel great after long days in them. The water-resistance is also a huge plus. These are definitely on the "warmer" side of the spectrum, and I probably wouldn't wear them in hot weather when I'm going to be sweating a lot, but despite this they are still reasonably breathable and my feet haven't necessarily felt hot when wearing them. They also look amazing. I got the gray/snow camo pattern and they look better in person than in the photos. Overall, this is my first Merrell purchase and it definitely sold me on the company. I know people have been singing praises of these shoes for ages, but once you go barefoot it's hard to go back and I didn't know Merrell had tapped into this category. It's nice knowing that I can get a shoe that works for my feet, is well made, and is also priced extremely competitively. I highly, highly recommend. I'm definitely purchasing another pair in a different colorway and hope Merrell continues to make shoes in the barefoot category.

Hiking
The Wrapt Mid Waterproof boots are so very comfortable !! Used on a hike in a hill with uneven terrain and loose rocks. Wide toe box is perfect. Lacing system keeps debris out. Would definitely recommend !
