Size down when in doubt
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Great mitt and certainly warm enough with a good amount of lofty down mixed with synthetic material on the palm. Easy to put on and the cinch straps aren't finicky when attempting to tighten with both mitts on. The elastic wrist also has enough give to allow easy access, even with extra layering from a thick merino wool liner glove. Outer shell is also high quality. The only con is the sizing: I normally wear a XL but under the advisement of the representative who took my order was told I should go with the L. Even the L is too big for me so I exchanged for a medium. Everyone's situation will be different and some will prefer more "give" in a glove to allow a liner glove and/or extra space to move your thumb into the main compartment for added warmth . I think there's just an unnecessary amount of free space in the chamber of this glove so this might be one of those rare exceptions where sizing down is advised and the above objectives can still be met.

Heads-Up on Sizing
These are very soft and warm inside, and I like the materials. I also like that there's no separation of the fingers like a glove liner that some mittens have. My fingertips are always cold, so down mittens are the only thing that keep my fingers from being completely frozen. I imagine that most people will find these mittens extremely warm. One thing to note is that, in my experience, these mittens run HUGE. They are almost comically large. Based on the size chart, I should wear a Medium. I ordered the M first, but they were way too big, so I returned them and ordered the Small. Those were also quite a bit too large, so I returned those too and ordered the XS. The XS honestly don't feel much smaller than the S, so they're still too big. But this is the smallest size available so I'll hang onto them. Overall, they're very comfortable and soft inside, but the sizing seems a bit off. Based on what I've tried, I imagine an XXXS would work well for me LOL.

Great for Everest & Denali
Used on everest and Denali. The warmest most dexterous and comfortable high altitude mitts out there!! Can’t recommend enough. Very not heavy as well!

Excellent upgrade to leather palms for durability while keeping cold weather excellence
Like prior versions, this glove is good for extended periods down to -40 deg - upgrade to leather palm should really improve durability - wrist tethers are a nice touch

way too small
way too small bought xl and they run very small and short on fingers may be for women hand , very disappointed . No option to buy xxxl or at least xxl. Not for expedition- useless. Just lost money.

Great Choice for 8000m
These are top tier cold weather mitts. I’ve worn them on every expedition for several years from Everest to K2 to Antarctica. They are a safe bet when choosing a mitt. Able to handle carabiners and ropes well.
