Why We Like The Mountain Hardwear Aspect 3 Tent

The Mountain Hardwear Aspect 3 Tent offers robust protection without weighing us down, with plenty of room for up to three campers. The Sil nylon fly provides reliable, 3-season protection from wet weather, and the 3/4 mesh canopy keeps air moving on warm nights in the woods. There are two full-size doors for easy entry and exit without disturbing our fellow campers, and the vestibules can store three backpacks. Pre-bent DAC Featherlight poles stand strong in windy conditions, and the lightweight design lightens the load of our pack so we can breeze through long miles on the trail.

Amazing Hiking Tent!

This is an amazingly light, super comfortable hiking tent. It’s probably the best tent I’ve ever owned.

Very happy with this tent

This is the first backpacking tent I've owned in 30 years. I've only used it once so far, but both my wife and I were very happy with the tent. It was quick and easy to setup and it was comfortably big for the two of us and some of our stuff.

exactly what I was looking for

The Mountain Hardware Aspect 3 Tent exceeded all my expectations during my recent 10-day backpacking trip in Colorado. This tent proved to be an exceptional companion in the rugged wilderness, providing reliable protection and comfort throughout my journey. One of the standout features of the Aspect 3 is its durability. Despite encountering harsh weather conditions, including heavy rain and strong winds, the tent remained rock-solid and impervious to the elements. Its robust construction and high-quality materials gave me peace of mind, knowing that I was sheltered from the unpredictable mountain weather. Setting up the Aspect 3 was a breeze, thanks to its intuitive design and color-coded poles. Even after a long day of hiking, I could effortlessly assemble the tent in a matter of minutes. The freestanding structure allowed me to choose the ideal campsite without being limited by the terrain, providing flexibility and convenience. Inside, the Aspect 3 offered a spacious and comfortable living area for three people. The tent's well-designed floor plan maximized interior space, ensuring ample room for gear storage and movement. The two doors and vestibules were a fantastic addition, allowing easy access and providing extra storage for our backpacks and muddy boots. Ventilation was superb in the Aspect 3. The tent featured strategically placed mesh panels and vents, which effectively circulated air and minimized condensation. Even on warmer nights, I enjoyed a cool and refreshing sleep without feeling stuffy or claustrophobic. Furthermore, the tent's lightweight design was a blessing during our backpacking adventure. It packed down compactly, fitting seamlessly into my backpack without adding unnecessary weight. Its durability didn't compromise its portability, making it a perfect choice for hikers who prioritize both strength and convenience. Overall, the Mountain Hardware Aspect 3 Tent proved itself to be a top-notch shelter for my extended backpacking trip in Colorado. Its outstanding durability, easy setup, spacious interior, excellent ventilation, and lightweight design make it a reliable and versatile choice for outdoor enthusiasts. I highly recommend this tent to anyone seeking a reliable and comfortable shelter for their wilderness adventures.

Light and durable tent

I have had this tent for over a year and so far it has held up well. I had to set it up at night once with high winds and rain and stayed dry despite the terrible weather. The mesh actually helped because it kept the tent from being blown away during set up. (It did require 2 people to attach the fly and I did have a towel to dry the tent inside after set up). Attached is an image the next morning, I undid the vestibule due me beginning to pack up. I have also tested it in the backyard during a blizzard and besides occasionally tapping snow off through the night it did make it through. I would not recommend it (it is a three season tent)but it is good to know that in a pinch or a change in weather the tent will hold up. The fly despite being very thin has held up to everything I have thrown at it. I have been careful with it to keep it from being punctured. On a clear night the mesh is great for falling asleep under the stars. As a previous reviewer stated some of the hooks do become undone if the weather is bad but never enough to compromise the integrity of the tent. (At a maximum 2 on the top out of 5). Overall this is amazing tent that is light, yet more durable than similar tents on the market. And yes it will fit three people comfortably with 20” wide pads (gear had to stay in the vestibule). With the silicon what’re proofing being just the cherry on top. Look to use it for many more years to come!

Light weight and roomy

I purchased the Aspect 3 tent earlier this year and really like it. It is sturdy, lightweight, and roomy, just what I expect from Mountain Hardwear.

Overall nice backpacking tent.

Used it in WV last weekend with no adverse weather conditions (other than wind). The tent held up well and has ample space for two people and some gear. I believe it to be somewhat common knowledge, but you always go 1+ person on tents if you plan a stowing gear in them. As with other lightweight backpacking tents, this tent does feel a little "fragile" so i would recommend going easy with it. This appears to be the general consensus among reviewers for any brand lightweight hiking tent. The rain fly seems to be manufactured with a really thin, but it held up well in the wind, but i cannot speak for rain at this point. The stakes are small and very lightweight, but they held so no conplaints there. I personally thought it was a well thought out design with some nice storage options (2 sides, 1 on top). The hooks and cord systm that attaches the tent to the poles is unique. I think i like it, but its too early to tell for me at this point. That being said, i had no problems with it. Overall, its a pretty easy tent to set up, especially with two people. I'm hoping it will last like my marmont limelight 2p as i really do like this tent. Also (if it matters to you like it does me) the material isnt manufactured in China so i personally feel it is of a higher quality. Nothing is perfect, but this tent appears quality.
