Why We Like The Mountain Hardwear Boundary Ridge GORE-TEX 3L Jacket
The resort's ridgeline sure is beautiful, but most of the time it's windy and—hopefully—snowy, and we like taking in the mountainous sights comfortably covered in Mountain Hardwear's Boundary Ridge GORE-TEX 3L Jacket. We really appreciate this jacket's reliable GORE-TEX waterproofing, and that it's surprisingly packable so we can wear it on tours as well as chairlifts.

My go to jacket
Love this jacket, especially when weather gets wet. I am a big fan of layering and this shell gives me room for plenty of layering options. Great powder skirt, just the right number and location of pockets for all my stuff.

Top notch!
Excellent quality jacket! It’s a bit boxier than the previous MH jackets I’ve owned.

10 out of 10
I’m 5’7” 160lbs and the small fits perfect! Just know this is a shell! I run a wool base layer and a fleece mid layer under this jacket and it’s perfect for days under 10 degrees F. I do double up on my wool base layers if it’s really cold though! However, over all best ski coat I’ve ever owned

Great Jacket
Super high quality ski shell, snow skirt zips off. A little stiffer than my MH trail verse rain jacket with a high collar, helmet compatible hood, covinient pocket placement and pit zips. Length is on the longer side for me (5'8").

Worked Great in Tough Conditions
Overall, I was very happy with this jacket. I bought this as an upgrade on my old shell for a trip to Big Sky Montana and was glad I did. I wore this with a base layer and nanopuff jacket in 10 degree snow days and was warm and dry. I loved all the pockets and the cuffs were easy to tighten and keep my gloves over. The hood fit super well over my helmet on really windy runs and lifts.

Ski shell review
Jackets runs very large. Long I should say. Fabric is a bit thicker than other high end shells I’ve been used to. Otherwise, performs very well with water and snow keeps you dry. Get what you pay for here. Glad it’s my ski shell.

Awesome Jacket, great features!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- XL
I bought this jacket as a gift for my husband who had a lot of boxes to check off. It is gortex and waterproof, has a large hood to fit over his helmet, lots of pockets, long enough to cover his backside on the ski lift, and roomy enough to freely move without being constricting, etc. The color is a bonus! This is the only jacket I could find that met all his requirements, and he absolutely loves it!

I'm 6'0 220 athletic build. Returned large and got XL after layering was to tight. Love this jacket

Solid
To review the fit of this jacket: I'm 5'8, 150, runner build with broad shoulders. I went with small. Length of sleeves and torso are perfect and cant imagine going bigger for my height unless I weighed more. Fits a base layer and puffy fine. Definitely a little tight in the chest when layered though not super restrictive, so not a huge factor for the uphill. Inner mesh pockets aren't quite big enough to casually throw both skins in one, but that's a trade-off for the size of the external hand pockets. Otherwise, quality and durability are great. Removeable powder skirt is clutch. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.
