Why We Like The Mountain Hardwear Bridger Tent
We like the Bridger Tent because it brings Mountain Hardwear's alpine technology down to the campground. Utilizing the brand's mountaineering expertise, the tent is highly durable and waterproof with PU-coated polyester ripstop for protection, and it features a full mesh canopy for optimal ventilation and unobstructed views of stars when there's little chance of rain. The vestibule and tent floor combine for one of the largest covered living spaces in its class with a tall interior height of 5 foot 6 inches and two large canopy and mesh doors that open saloon-style to provide easy entry and exits from the tent. We especially like that massive front vestibule— which is big enough to host front porch-style hangouts—and opens into an inviting space, which even has a built-in "door mat" to preserve our tent and keep things cleaner. There's plenty of extras all around—more than we normally find packed into a campground-style tent.

Almost perfect
This has become my new favorite tent. It has a few things I wish could be changed (hence the 4 stars rather than 5) but overall this is a fantastic piece of gear. Just came back from using it on a 3-week camping trip through the Canadian Rockies. Tent held up extremely well during big storms (solid rain for hours, wind gusts over 40mph). Zero leaks and the rain fly did a great job of keeping things comfortable inside the tent. The materials were incredibly high quality, including some truly beefy tent poles, a generous number of pre-attached guy lines, a huge ground tarp included, good storage inside. The tent itself is very spacious and I love the massive vestibule. A few downsides: 1) absolutely terrible pitching instructions (why design so many cool features on a tent and then not explain how to set it up properly and use everything?) and 2) the vestibule zippers are near impossible to open from the inside — the zippers immediately get caught on the fabric flaps that cover the zipper (I had to reach *under* the edge of the vestibule with one hand to hold the flap aside and then use my other hand to open the zipper). It’s a bit tricky to set up by yourself since the rain fly is enormous but it’s hard to call that a flaw since the whole point in buying this tent was to secure a good size shelter for rough weather.

Sensible and Roomy

Can you believe it, a car camping tent for 4 that actually fits 4?! It’s true! Setup is straightforward, I was able to pack it all back up into the sling bag it came with it which was a relief. One of the loops was missing to hold back the porch flap, our only quibble.

Once used. Very accommodating and impressive quality. Suggest using a secondary ground cloth first under the provided one which will not handle rough ground

A solid performer.
really solid tent. slept 4 just fine. a bit heavy and unweildy as a back country tent but I took it on a canoeing trip and most of the time it was just in the boat. But on the portages it was a bit heavy and bulky. That said, it performed really well in its core job and did repel 2 nights of rain really well while being large enough to actually hold 4 grown people.

Great Car-Camping Tent

This tent is well designed and well made with high quality materials. It is a great car-camping tent. My wife and I and our two full-sized dogs fit easily in the tent with two EXPED Megamats and two full-sized dog beds. We went through a torrential rain with no problem. Everything stayed dry.

Big, roomy
Super roomy tent you can easily stand up and move around. Takes a bit if you are setting up by yourself, but once up, it is great.

Top quality car camping tent. Could use more venting to cool down quicker during, but overall a great car camping tent for a couple.
Top quality materials and craftsmanship. Used it for the first time over 4th of July weekend. Just two of us and it was the perfect size for car camping. We were able to fit a queen size blow up bed and have enough room on the sized for our clothes and items. The extra storage in the vestibule is a great addition; we used it for easy reach to car keys, sun screen, and layers. My only complaint is how large the rain cover is when not on the tent. It's a lot of fabric to manage and move around. I also find the air ventilation could be improved. With the rain fly on, it gets a little stuffy until the night time temperatures cool. We were able to use the vestibule during a rain show and it was perfect for our two chairs and a small table between us. I also really liked that the standard setup does not have random guy lines to trip on. All the stakes are near the tent and the front vestibule lines are built into the entrance panels. I never had to worry about tripping on a line during the night.

Would buy again
I’m a fan of the tent. It works well. The vestibule entry with gear pockets is great. Easy enough to put up, even if solo.

My wife and I retired our 12 year old Nemo Asashi 4P and were sad to see it go (it had been through a lot!), but excited for something new. We decided on the MH-Bridger 4P because the sleeping space was similar size (although taller) yet added the large vestibule/garage which we knew we would use in inclement weather in the Rockies. Little did we know that we would use the garage on the first night as it began to snow on us as we were making dinner at a campground in the Western Black Hills on Memorial Day weekend. We were so happy to be able to move our camp chairs and cooler inside for a relaxing meal instead of the cab of the truck. Overall, this is a very comfortable and easy to pitch tent. Plenty of interior storage/pockets, including a very small gear loft which is one of only a couple complaints in that it is much too small. The other more serious complaint is that the two zippers for the vestibule canopy get caught on the outside zipper flap WAY too easily, especially when trying to open from the inside. We’re still looking for a workaround but I feel if the zipper weather flaps were wider (or shorter?) that it wouldn’t be as much of an issue. Otherwise it really is a fantastic tent!

Comfortable, Well-Designed Tent
This seems to be a well-made tent. Luxurious, even. It hasn't been tested yet in strong winds, or several days of rain. It did stand up well to several hours of rain, and stayed dry during a light snowstorm. The build up of snow on the rainfly (a few melting inches) did start to cause dripping on the footprint in the vestibule. But this tent isn't made for snow. Pluses: height, pockets on inside of vestibule and tent, and the generous front vestibule. Negatives: the front door of the rainfly (over the vestibule) is not that easy to deal with, as the zippers are on the sides and there is voluminous fly to deal with. The zippers tend to get caught in the fabric that protects them. Also: Be ready to deal with a very large, unwieldy fly when cleaning/drying (after mud splashes) and breaking down the tent in inclement weather. This tent is larger than it seems in pics/description. Definitely a base camp type tent.
