I only give it 4 stars because of the string
This shirt feels like a cloud on your body, it is so light-weight and soft. The fit was perfect, but truly the only thing I would change is eliminating the strings, I don't quite see the point but I ended up cutting them off anyways so, problem solved.

Front string needs tucked in. Not contributing to a good look

The best sun hoody!
Awesome as always! This is my fourth one! Like others have said though I wish it didn’t have that annoying string!

Incredible fabric!
I found this shirt in an outdoor review for “best upf long sleeves for women” and it does not disappoint. The fabric is so soft, very lightweight, and there’s a great tie die technique on the sku I ordered which is fun. Love the color and the draw string feature too!

Nearly Perfect Shirt
I’ve had the hoody for a year+ and I still love it. It’s been the perfect lightweight shirt for sunny paddle boarding, running, hiking, biking. I don’t like the string at the waist and I don’t understand the purpose. I love the tie dye color ways best!

Why the string?
I have had these for years for summer field work and while they are generally good, I hate the little string at the bottom. I’m sure it has a use but I sure couldn’t tell you, I cut them off of every one I’ve had - I’ve just found them annoying and in an inconvenient spot and the men’s versions don’t have them but unfortunately they are all too large for me. I’ve also had the stitching around the thumb loops come loose in multiple and the fabric has stretched after a summer. The fabric is breathable, fairly durable to snags, and I like the hood.

Favorite shirt
I am obsessed and addicted to the Crater Lake line, especially the long sleeve hoody. It is my go to outdoor shirt year round from summer trail runs to the skin track. It is so comfy and breathable. Hands down my favorite activewear.

GAME CHANGER in sun protection!
I have 6 of these by now… brought two on my 22 day hike on the JMT without and didn’t have to worry about sunscreen on my arms, back, neck, and ears the whole trip! (the hood really enhances the UV protection)! I am very fair skin, been wearing the crater lake hoody for years, and have yet to get sunburn through the amazingly soft and moisture wicking material! The Crater Lake Hoody is my go-to backpacking top, and wear it anytime I am in the sun for extended periods of time. This piece is a must have for anyone doing anything outdoors!

light, breathable, developed holes after only a few washes
I bought this hoody in September for an October Camino de Santiago hike. I saw several great reviews about how it's light, breathable, and great sun coverage. It was all of those things but several holes developed after 2-3 washes by the left thumb hole, in the armpits, and randomly along the shirt. We used a laundry machine only a few times but, on medium heat, the zipper melted and adhered two parts of the hoody together.

Serves its purpose, but please change the string!
Like the light weight, material soft, and so far has held up, but wear only when hiking/camping. I am limited with funds, want quality items, and need them to last. It is not my favorite of these kind of shirts, but it has served it purpose. The string is useless in the front- awkward and long. It got caught when wearing and ripped. So, now it is no more. Wish they would revise that. I am not totally a fan of this color pattern, but sold out of one O wantexld befoee could order, and this was the only one left in my size on sale ( I have to budget). Overall, not totally unhappy, somewhere in the middle. Ot was comfortable, and the features worked when wearing it during hiking etc. I wanted a 2nd one and went with another brand. So time will tell.
