Hardcore pants
These are tough pants. I am an arborist and they get the “you know what” kicked out them daily. I own 6 total pair. Less laundry to do. They do run a little small. Size up if you can’t try them on.

Disposable clothes
The poor quality of this and the other items I bought in 2024 have made me lose all confidence in the mountain hardware brand. They fall apart after 4 washes and a month wearing them in a house. These products are totally unusable for any outdoor activity. The beltloops fell off the first week I wore them and stitching started falling out after two washes. Mountain hardware pants I bought 5 years ago and used extensively are in like new condition still. Whoever is making them for Mountain hardware now has systemic quality issues that have made me stop buying this brand.

Terrible stitching
I bought these back in April and finally broke them out. The stitching started to come undone as soon as I sat down. Terrible quality from a brand I once loved.

Solid
Solid pants, very comfortable, a little long. They seem incredibly durable.

Great all around pants, but the stitching is coming out after a month of use
These pants feel great and can be used indoors and outdoors. It has UPF 50 built-in which I great for protection of your skin. The stretch in the pants allow great flexibility for movement. The only concern is how they will last, the stitching is coming out with about month of wear.

Do not buy, find a different brand completely
Terrible pants. Low quality stitching that falls apart after first use. Mountain hardware doesn’t stand behind their products either.

My favorite pants
The Hardwear AP line has been my favorite pants since it was introduced years ago. I own 3 pairs of the regular AP pant which has become my daily pants instead of jeans. I use the AP active pants for climbing and hiking and I appreciate the shorter cut and the material is great for being outside all day. I did notice that the AP Active pant material is a bit of a softer nylon/polyester compared to the old AP pants. It’s very comfortable but I worry about durability. I’ve been using them at the climbing gym and outside for the last 5 months, so far so good. I hope Mountain Hardwear doesn’t change the design and fit of these. They are awesome.
