Why We Like The Mountain Hardwear Premonition UL Anorak
For packable protection on the mountain, we stuff the Mountain Hardwear Premonition UL Anorak in our pack. When sunny skies suddenly turn gray, we unfurl this featherweight layer from its own chest pocket. The waterproof construction stops the rain from reaching us underneath yet still lets our microclimate breathe as we continue to climb steep terrain. When ridgeline winds start to turn droplets into weapons, we cinch the hood over our helmet and clamp the cuffs tight.

Loving this jacket so far! It's super visible and lightweight (for running), and I've discovered it's perfect for wintertime mtn bike riding as well. It makes soggy NW adventure possible!

Super Light for Alpine Use
I've been using this anorak for guiding up high in the White Mountains of NH for a few months. This jacket is light, attractive, and functional. It's waterproof and breathes well. Protects well from gusty winds. I regularly employ it in highly exposed areas on Mt Washington. Durable enough for guide/climbing use and light enough to justify for ultralight backpacking. The fit of the anorak is great. The hood works with or without a helmet. The wrist cuffs are minimal and effective. The stow pocket is sized for ease of use. The only thing I would add is a cinch around the waist hem. Other than that it has been a 9/10 anorak for the weight and receives compliments for looking good. I may just pick up the full zip jacket as well. I like anoraks for 3 season and full zips for the fringe conditions as they are easier to put on when it's cold. I'm typically a medium in clothing and this medium is cut a little larger which is appropriate for an anorak to slide over from the top easily. It layers well over a baselayer, fleece, and synthetic vest all in size medium. Not restrictive which is critical for ninja moves.

Premium Level Ultralight Mountain Shell.
Love this jacket! Fits great. Looks very cool. Minimal features. It does not have hand pockets on the lower portion making ideal for going under a harness or a backpack hip belt. Its lightweight construction makes it pack super small. You’ll forget it’s even in your pack! My favorite parts of this jacket: -The wrist cuff Velcro closing system. Works very well and easy to manage with gloves on. -Mobility. Not restricting movement. Great for climbing.

Light and waterproof.
Light Anorak style three layer hardshell that fits nicely under harness. Packs down into its chest pocket. Great for the person who likes to keep things minimal and functional.
