This Is The Best In Show - Going Away
These pants are, in my opinion, the best climbing pants on the market nowadays; full stop. Thank goodness I didn't need to go to the bathroom when I first put them on and realized they don't have a zipper fly. But that's a minor inconvenience in the context of great fabric, great shape and uber comfortable. I am definitely going to get another pair; but not in the on-sale blue color; because at the gym last weekend, I had them on and this guy walks up and asks me when I got out of prison. That's when I realized this shade of blue bears a striking resemblance to prison pants blue. I don't care, just joshing you. They're terrific and I highly recommend them to you!

Most unrestricted, comfortable climb pants with one overlooked upgrade
Really love the fit and movement of these pants while climbing. I've been complaining FOREVER that I can't find climbing pants that do not restrict movement, stretch enough, aren't too hot, etc. These really nail all of these perfectly. BUT. I'd love to climb multi, or just not drop my phone whenever I crouch down. Making that side drop-in pocket a zippered pocket would make these the ultimate climb pants!

Great fit, but color is off

The relaxed fit of the pants is great! They are spacious and don’t restrict movement yet aren’t too baggy. The material the pants are made of is certainly unique. It feels like a hybrid between a khaki and lightweight hiking pant material. They are breathable and moisture wicking like most hiking pants, but have a much more “natural” fiber feeling to them like a khaki pant, almost as if they could be worn to the office and straight to the trailhead after the clock strikes 5 (a great “do it all” pant). My 2 criticisms of the pants would be the mechanism to synch the cuffs and the misleading “volcanic” color. It seems as if Mountain Hardwear cheaped out on the mechanism to synch the pants cuffs. Instead of a trusty spring cord lock, the pants have a silicone cord stopper that doesn’t do the best job of keeping the elastic draw cord synched up tight around the ankles. Skinny-legged individuals, such as myself, will probably find that the cuffs loosen up fairly quickly. Additionally, I ordered the pants in the “volcanic” color expecting them to be a shade of grey (ha), but when the pants arrived, I was surprised to find that they are more of a dark sage color. If you want a more accurate picture of the volcanic color, check out the images of the women’s pants. For some reason, the women’s pants in the same volcanic color appear more dark sage, which is what I found the men’s pants to look like. Maybe I’m being harsh rating the pants a 3/5. I think having a better understanding of the volcanic color would coax an additional star out of me.

Rockyridge Pants are a great retro style
It seems like everyone has went to plastic clothing in the last few years. These are a great design and feel great against your skin. Only possible change I could suggest would be deeper pockets and shorter length but those aren't real complaints.
