Superb !
I’ve been waiting for this jacket from Hardwear for nearly a decade! The designers have absolutely nailed it, it’s superb. Apart from being light waterproof and warm, it also fits extremely well with excellent arm length and also arm lift too. The cuff’s are snug enough to keep warm air inside the sleeve and fit over the wrist perfectly. Also the pockets are high enough so that you can wear this as a technical climbing jacket and still access the pockets if you are carrying a pack or wearing a harness. The pit zips allow for body temp regulation if you’re walking uphill or skinning up to a peak backcountry skiing on a cold day. The hood fits over a helmet and cinch on the back allows the hood to move with your head when you turn it. I’d give this jacket a rare 10/10, I absolutely love it !

lightweight and warm
I bought this jacket about a month ago. I live in WI and we get a lot of cold and windy and wet winter weather. I have a Helly Hansen 3 in 1 winter jacket for the super cold days (minus 20 or less windchill) but it's big and bulky. I wanted something with similar warmth but without the bulk. This jacket checks all the boxes. Pricy but worth it. Great warmth, not bulky, looks good.

More Technical than Everyday Wear
Just ok, had higher expectations. Very warm and light weight. Hood is huge and sloppy, must be tightened down a lot to stay clear of your vision. Pockets are not lined but are positioned well for hands and glove storage. No real features integrated for the price, just seems very plain Jane. Example, it doesn't pack into itself and has no external chest pocket. Pit zippers are massive but I don’t intend to ever use them. Exterior fabric “PERTEX” seems like it will perform very well in a moist environment but you aren’t holding a backpack on one shoulder cause it will slide off every time. Overall, probably not the best choice for everyday wear but it will keep me warm through any weather tossed at me.

Weatherproof Down
This light down jacket with a wind and water proof shell is a great option for wet snowy day, or even a day when you are not sure what is coming. The down is light weight, but the over-shell makes it warmer than you might guess. It has quickly becoming my day-in day-out winter jacket. The double zipper front and pit zips make venting easy. At 6’4” 185 lbs a large gives me a relaxed fit. Two big “backpack friendly” pockets on the outside, two interior pockets, one zippered.

The GOAT
The Storm Whisperer is the GOAT of winter weather jackets. The Pertex is soft, warm and extremely packable. The highlights are pockets in all the right places with the insulation being incredible warm for 33 degree rain/snow! It was dumping snow in Colorado and I walked out with just this and a T-shirt and was insanely warm and dry. The cuffs go over watches nice and smooth and the insulated hood is clutch. This is my go to everything jacket for everything this season. Thanks MH!

Replace 3 jackets in your closet with one.
Super light, totally waterproof, premium construction, durable. Waterproof zippers look nice, and pocket placement works with a pack or harness. This jacket does it all, quiver killer. Lighter than a typical rain jacket without insulation. Hood goes over a climbing helmet… minimal adjustments just what you need but that’s what keeps it so light. 6’ 190 and a large is perfect.

That other person literally can't type in their own address correctly and want to make it everyone elses problem... Crazy. I'm just here to give a good company a good review and level the playing field. I want people to buy this jacket first so I can know if I should haha.
