New Go-to Jacket

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:
M

Love this jacket. Full disclosure, I haven't tested in in cold weather yet, but it seems like it will be typically warm like today's down jackets. I love the color -- it's a little less "orange" than the photo (maybe that's my monitor!) I like to wear lots of layers in the winter, and tend to get bulky, so I went with a size M. I always size up for jackets. I'm 5'3+, 127 lbs. Athletic build. This fits great and has plenty of room for a sweater or hoodie underneath. The M falls just below my hip (I have a very short torso and long legs) a little lower that the model in the photo. The features on this include a zippered breast pocket, two zippered side pockets and in inside slip-in pocket. Yu can sinch the bottom to keep the wind out. It's very packable and light weight. I think this is going to be my new go-to jacket and will be very versatile.

Great jacket

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
XS

I bought this jacket a few weeks ago and have been wearing it nonstop. I normally wear a small/medium, but I bought this in XS because it was the only size, and it fits great. I do like a snug fit though, because I wear it under my shell on cold snowboarding days. I haven’t washed it yet so I can’t say how it’ll hold up, but so far so good. I love the color too.

Awkward fit

I wanted to like this jacket and it just didn’t work. I’m 4’11 and was swimming in the XS. I expected it might be long. Or being a petite. And, overall the cut wasn’t flattering and it was much too big. It felt really warm and the quality looked great. It just didn’t fit right.

Disappointed

I returned this jacket. The newer version has no insulation in the shoulders. My older version is the best coat I’ve own -warm and easy to move in but my zipper finally went.

Disappointed

Bought this to replace my 4 year old stretchdown jacket. The fit is true to size. However, the amount of fill in this jacket leaves a lot to be desired... it is very thin. The fabric, liner, and zipper all feel and sound much cheaper than my old stretchdown. Unfortunately, I'll be returning and looking elsewhere.

Roomy And A Great Value

Like all other Mountain Hardware products I have owned, the quality and finishes superb. Be aware of the cut is a little longer at the hip than I anticipated, but it is still very comfortable.

Bought for a trip to Banff. Was lightweight and warm, very easy to pack. Very happy with my purchase!

Love it

Love this jacket! Such a great matte color and nice and cozy. I love mountain hardwares garment designs. I often find they are more creative and innovative compared to other outdoor brands. I hate their logo though... and for this one it's shellacked on there so you can't rip it off with a seam ripper.

Runs big

I used the size chart. I’m 5ft 4” and about 104 pounds with a 34B bust. I bought the small as suggested but had to return it because it was too big. The XS fits me even with layers underneath. The cut is fairly wide in the hips even in the XS. If you have a boyish figure like me you might find the Patagonia down sweater fits you better.
