goretex is still the best
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- XXL
I know goretex leaves forever chemicals and i’m not sure I would have only one made custom for me, but let’s face it - the jacket has been made. I am also sick of buying rain coats that are more water resistant than water proof. if you are running between your car and a building, everything works. it’s when you are stuck I. the rain for an hour or more that you start learning the meaning of water proof and water anything else. I have bought the products to rewatwrproof my jackets and nothing works. in winter I have a blaklader water proof jacket that is rubberized or something. It’s a beast - but wear one in anything but sub 40 temperatures and wearing plastic sweats to make weight for high school wrestling is what comes to mind. this jacket simply works, you can position the hood so it doesn’t block your vision, I am tall and this is still a really good length.

Great fit, Favourite jacket i own!
I had this jacket bookmarked for over 6 months before I finally bought it. Very happy with it, fit is roomy and quality is great. I bought the slate blue colour which looks more navy in the photos but is a bit lighter and true slate blue in person. Windproof, waterproof, comfortable, longer in the back fit like other Mountain Hardwear jackets i've purchased. Love it.

I love it.
I love this jacket. And I don’t write usually care to write these. I purchased this for a versatile, durable, waterproof shell that I can get dirty while working outside and then wash off and wear to the office in shoulder season weather (or winter with enough under it). It was meant to be a replacement to my last bad$&@ shell from Mountain Hardwear, the Sharkstooth something or other, and so far it is doing just that! My only hope is that Mountain Hardwear will be able to move away from Goretex soon so we can all stay dry without worrying about the environmental impact of it.

Quality Gore-Tex Jacket
Disclaimer: I haven’t used this in the rain yet. Just wanted to give initial impressions, sizing, etc. High quality piece of gear. Seams, stitching, zippers, pulls are all good quality. I like the hood being separate from the collar, despite the additional fabric adding weight. I am 5’9” and about 165 lbs and wear a small.
