Dynalock Ascent Poles
Quick to pack and light on their feet, the MSR Dynalock Ascent Poles are the perfect companions for steep skin tracks and snowy trails. Designed with backcountry skiing and snowshoe hiking in mind, they feature the ultralight strength of Kevlar-reinforced carbon, and they use MSR's Quick-deploy design when you want them stashed away. Adjustable by 20cm, DynaLock mechanisms use tool-free tensioning to guarantee that the poles stay at the length you choose. MSR equipped them with a comfortable foam grip—plus a lower grip for sidehilling—and included both summer and winter baskets for your year-round convenience.

Backcountry's review system does NOT allow editing reviews, so I had to create another review. C'mon guys! UPDATE: I did in fact hear from Cascade Designs (they own MSR) and they WILL warranty their product; they're sending me a new pair in a couple of days. I guess their move to Reno, NV has delayed customer service response times by about a month, but when they do respond, it's a really nice outcome. They should improve their response times now that their backlog is winding down. Yay MSR! (Boo! on Backcountry for not allowing edits to product reviews.)

Would recommend
These poles are light but sturdy, pack down small and are easy to set up. Would recommend.

A long time to come!!
I am a big fan of MSR equipment and was delighted to learn that they now make their own hiking poles. In the last 4-5 weeks I have hiked with those poles in six or seven 10 mile hikes and they are still great. Looking forward to continuing with them for a long time to come.

Exciting!
My recently angry spine convinced me to try these poles and I can't wait to get started! I want to practice good technique from the start, though, and how-to videos for beginners straight from the horse's mouth (that's you, MSR) on your website would be good. I'll find some but would rather hear it from you. Also, I agree that those little baskets are impossible to push on until they're flush with the flange. Even my 30-something son gave up.

I’m going to order another set
These poles are great, they set up and break down very easy and are very solid. Any negative reviews are likely someone that doesnt know how to use them, watch the videos…….

My third set of poles….and by far the best set
I purchased one set for me and used them hiking and was so impressed with the comfort and “swing-ability” that I purchased another set to give my wife for Christmas. We are both on the short side at 5’-4” and 5’ so we purchased the smaller size. Very packable into our airline carry on travel packs. These babies snap open quickly and pack up nearly as fast.

over complicated
Just received these today. They are sadly very over complicated and have far too many ways to break down. I just wanted simple adjustable poles for hiking. I am turning and pushing the baskets with all my strength and can not get them past the section with raised lines. I guess I will be returning these for some simplified poles without all the unnecessary bells and whistles that will just work.

Great Purchase
These are the best trekking poles I have ever owned. Lightweight , very comfortable, very convenient with the flick-lock to adjust length as opposed to 3 section poles. Definitely recommend purchasing.

Perfect poles!
These are perfect - hardy for a carbon pole so I've used them on plenty of rocky terrain but very lightweight for carrying on a trail run. I find them very comfortable and adjustable for both myself and my wife. The action to pack them away is quick and they pack down to a very small size. They have been perfect poles for a wide range of activities (snow shoeing, hiking, trail running!) and across such variety of terrain (rocky mountains, boggy meadows, and so much more!). Fitting them was very easy - they fit true to the size guide on MSR's website and are easy to adjust.

First-rate trekking poles.
Excellent trekking poles. Used them in the Himalayas & found them super light, strong and particularly beneficial for long, steep descents.
