Perfect size
I got the district about a month ago and love the pockets and different areas of the bag. I’m a volunteer firefighter in a rural community and with a very active schedule, when I’m on the run it’s perfect to respond to calls with just the bare minimum I need with me.

this District 4, Outstanding little bag.
I brought this, because I was always leaving my phone, gps, etc, in my truck, tractor. Now I keep this and more, it is always with me, in my District 4.

Happy with purchase
Things I like: 1) it's tall enough to hold my prescription sunglasses in their case in a vertical position which makes it easy to grab 2) the opening across the top allows easy access to main compartment 3) the strap works well slung over the shoulder, across the body or around the waist front stash pocket and rear slash pocket work well for quick access items (keys, phone, etc) 4) the square shape fits easily into a larger day pack 5) competitively priced 6) the Tiger Orange color 7) well made with quality material Things I don't like: 1) needs a grab/carry handle 2) the 3/16” webbing near the bottom looks good but I find it isn't very functional. I would like an additional strap near the top of the bag with which to attach a carabiner. (I don't like things dangling below the main body of the pack). 3) I am right handed but I found the strap buckle to be located on the 'wrong' side. When wearing across my body I prefer the strap to go over my right shoulder and the bag to be on my left side. I added a paracord handle to the strap attachment points. I swapped the strap around to suit the way I carry the bag. In other words, the release buckle is now on the opposite side from it's original position.

Small but mighty
It seems finding the perfect "all the time" bag has been more difficult than it should, until now. I love this bag. The size is perfect. Large enough for me, without being too big or bulky. The front outside pocket holds keys and chapstick. Inside, various sized sleeves hold all the things. I can even fit a kindle in a case easily. I'm sure I could fit more if I needed to, but if I don't need it why make it heavier. Skinny straps usually start to irritate my shoulder and neck if there is a little weight to the bag I'm carrying. This one has yet to do that, and somehow it just stays in place. The padded pocket in the back is perfect for my phone. Tucks in perfectly and I can feel it vibrate if there is a call. I love the fact that when wearing it, I can unzip it fully and nothing falls out. (I haven't worn it as a hip bag/fanny pack....but I totally could.) Adjusting the shoulder strap is a snap. I got the gray, which the zipper pulls and branding have a slight blue/green tint to them. I think this bag would work out for either gender just fine. I haven't had it for very long, but I don't have any worries about durability. I think I finally found a bag I will carry for a really long time. I think it's fantastic.

Great build for urban adventures
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- Backcountry
This is a deceptive bag - it is a perfect size for urban essentials while looking smaller than it is. The expandable pockets make finding things from the top very easy, snd the pocket in back is perfect for a phone. I was sporting an Osprey Daylite (6L) before, but this sits better on my hip and Carrie’s the same amount (in a 4L package). All in all pretty happy. Is it perfect for longer journies like flights and hikes - maybe not. But, for around town, it’s fantastic.

Less is More
Does the trick. I was looking for a low key camera bag to use for quick shoots and hide my gear when needed. I wish they made a District 6, just to add a few more things in there as the District 8 is too much visually to keep a low visual key in cities. My 5th Mystery Ranch bag, hard to imagine buying bags from anywhere else. Quality is solid, price is you get what you pay for, buy once cry once…

Great bag
I bought this for everyday use and it is great. Fits exactly what you need: keys, headphones, wallet, even Red Bull. Highly recommended.

Do you have a question about this product?
July 18, 2024
QQ: I noticed the zipper to the main compartment is somewhat exposed. How does the bag hold up in the rain? I'm more thinking of a heavy rain (vs. light rain). Any issues? Or am I overthinking this....
