Why We Like The MYSTERY RANCH District Pro Bag
Here at Backcountry, the Herd is just as passionate about the bags we take into work as the ones we take out adventuring. We love the MYSTERY RANCH District Pro Bag for its sleek and compact design, versatile nature, and quality build. The District Pro has a zippered main compartment, a smaller top zippered compartment, a covered front pouch, and two external water bottle pockets to hold all of our workday essentials. Made out of a super tough 420D nylon and fitted with premium YKK DWR-coated zippers, this bag has us covered no matter what the workday looks like. The main pocket has internal organizational sleeves, can fit up to a 15-inch laptop, and has a removable divider for type-A organization. The shoulder strap is removable and adjustable, and the two grab handles on the body of the pack allow for a comfortable carry and fit over the handle of most wheeled luggage bags.

Multi Functional pockets
Where do I start? Pockets are amazing. Fabric is great. It’s a great size bag for everyday use from office to the grocery store to traveling new adventures. Mystery pro you done it again. Anyone who knows me can say I’m a bag fanatic. From Patagonia to North Face to Black Ember this is surely my daily bag. Great work on designing this bag.

Perfect EDC bag
I am a LEO and have tried all of the tactical brands as well as Mountain Hardware and Patagonia. Mystery Ranch has been the best and their quality is top notch. This bag fits my laptop and other edc essentials that I need with multiple pockets for organization. Wish I would’ve invested in Mystery Ranch instead of wasting money on other brands.

Great bag!
Had this for about a month now. Absolutly love it! You can fit a ton stuff in this. I use it for work, but considering buying a second one for out door use. Would make a great day pack. The only thing i dont like is how accessible the clips for the shoulder strap are. Not really an issue for me but if you work/live in a big city, it would be easy for someone to walk up behind you unclip it and run off. Again not an issue for me but something to consider. As usual great craftmanship, very well made and comfortable. Like i said considering buying another for a day pack.

Very versatile bag
Agret bag for day to day stuff and for travel. Well made and thought out. Only issue is the carry on handle slot is a little too harrow for a couple of my bags. But, I like it.

Decent….
A bit unwieldy as it won’t stand up on its own, which doesn’t sound like a pain, until it keeps falling over when trying to remove items from inside. Well constructed which is a plus.

Almost a Very Good bag !
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I purchased this bag because I have 2 other Mystery Ranch bags that I am happy with because of their overall quality in design and materials. The District Pro is worth the money. The materials are quality, the design is well thought out. The size is perfect for a personal item fitting under the seat of airplanes with room for your feet to fit along with the bag. The top zip pockets both front and back are very nice to have. They are not too deep as to loose items you need to find quickly. Great for keeping keys and small wallet that holds ID and a credit card. The necessary items one needs to have quick access during travel. The front pocket has plenty of room to keep a passport for quick access. One thing I would suggest is to have a section of the back zipper pocket that has a dedicated space that is slightly deeper than the rest of the space so you can keep your passport, in the same pocket as your small wallet that holds ID and credit card. This would help with organization as well as safety since the pocket is zippered and close to the body. Over all the bag is very good. It could be awesome with a few small tweaks.

Amazing buy one now
Have had this for about 3 weeks. Replaced a 20 year old Patagonia laptop pack. This Mystery Ranch is better in every way. Don’t hesitate to buy this. Worth every penny.

This bag has become my go to for my work days.
I have been using this bag for 6 months now. Ordering it online, I was concerned on the size but it was time to transition out of my 20 year old Timbuk2. I liked the idea of the smaller fit and more true organization and the District Pro truly has it all. For work I have to carry my computer, cords, pens, paperwork and odds and ends. On top of that, I generally carry my personal computer, and most of the time a spare portable monitor. The bag is tight, but it fits it all. I can say I have stressed the zippers and shoulder strap pad. Recently, I have been taking out the organizer in the center compartment and using it for overnight travel, with a packing cube. It has room for my clothes, computer, cords, a stash pocket for snacks, keys, ear bud case, and still the hidden back pocket for my passport. I have several Mystery Ranch bags, from a Terraframe 65, Coullee 30, Wingman Multipocket, and District Pro. I am sure I will get a few more because I have yet to be disappointed or uncomfortable. I hope they keep up with this quality since being bought out.

Great bag
The only thing I’m not thrilled about is the lack of room for sweatshirts

Is the inside lining of the stone one the same orange color as in the black bag?

waiting for the original color version: mineral grey and galaxy. any new supply plans? the current four color are not my cup of tea. lol

Can I install an after market strap to make it 3-point strap bag for added stability? Looking at the pictures it may be possible to hold it onto the shoulder strap, but I can't see any loops in the bag itself, so I wonder...

Can the main pocket hold a roughly 14"x11"x4" inch tech container and still hold a laptop?
March 19, 2024
Are there any plans to update the district pro? I’m really hoping for a 16” version as it’s so difficult to find a shoulder bag with 16” laptop comp. and 2 water bottle pockets.

Can an alternative insert become available that frees up internal storage but prevents the main compartment from just "flopping open" when unzipped? This is almost an incredible camera bag but the current removable divider eats up too much space.

Roughly, what’s the LxW dimensions of the main compartment with the divider removed? Could I fit a 6x8 inch Tupperware in there flat? I need to know if this bag can carry my important work materials (aka my lunch)

Will the side pockets hold a standard 32oz Nalgene water bottle? If so, comfortably or is it a wrestling match?
