My new go-to backpack

It is an incredibly versatile backpack, perfect for a variety of outdoor adventures. Aside from the typically amazing comfort of Mystery Ranch’s harness system and the well-known quality, here’s what I particularly liked: • Three Large Shovel Pockets: These add significant extra volume, and combined with the external loops and straps, extend the backpack’s usability from easy day hikes to light overnights. • Impressive Compression System: The backpack has multiple additional attachment points, allowing you to move the compression straps around and customize the fit based on your load. • Modular Organization: While it lacks internal organization (there’s no lid pocket or small item storage), it has three attachment points for Void Bags (two medium ones on the sides and one small on the top). Though the Void Bags are an additional cost, if you own several Mystery Ranch backpacks, they allow you to switch between packs without having to transfer small items—just move the Void Bag from one pack to another. • Color Scheme: Black and Orange, of course . Things I Didn’t Like: • Belt Pockets: While the belt pockets are roomy, they’re not wide enough to fit my iPhone 14 (not Max). However, they are better and feel larger than the ones on the Bridger 45. • Lid Pocket: I’d appreciate having a lid pocket for storing small essentials. • Shoulder Strap Loops: An extra loop or two on the shoulder strap for routing a hydration hose would be a nice addition. Overall, I think tRadix 31 is an excellent backpack for its size. It’s highly capable and versatile, with features that allow you to adapt it to a wide range of use cases. I can see this becoming my go-to companion for many future adventures.

Light and spacious.

Pack is flexible and capable of holding for more than you think. 4 stars because I feel the lid would be better if it had storage like it’s two bigger counterparts.

Perfect Pack

I bought the Radix31 for hiking and camping trips in the Colorado Sangres, it's by far, the best pack I have ever owned. Extremely comfortable!

Light Weight & Stylish

After trying out the Bridger 35 for I bit I opted for this pack because it was a familiar and comfortable yoke combined with a light weight construction. Of course only slightly smaller than the Bridger 35, I was sup surprised to see that the Radix 31 seemed to give me more usable space for the same load (odd?). Plus it has the outer pockets to carry the quick access items I wanted to stow. It’s still very comfortable but I do think the Bridger yoke is much more comfortable than this design. But it doesn’t have the chest pouches. Couple drawbacks of the Radix 32. It doesn’t have a top flap pouch! Why not? And to get into the bag, although not difficult, it takes a few extra steps to completely unzip to gain access to the bottom of the bag. I’m planning to do the Tour du Mont Blanc with bag drops along the way this fall (no need to pack a tent, sleeping bag, etc.) so I needed a lightweight and comfortable bag to carry just the essentials for the day and a few extra items as needed. This bag fit the bill to be comfortable and light. I recommend.

Ok pack

You have a choice, large cumbersome feeling pack or a smaller limited use pack. I want a moderate pack for hunting first and other use second. The bag configuration is another story.

Comfy, light, and yet beefy

I just got this pack today and haven't used it yet, but I'm in love already. I can tell it will be really comfortable with heavy loads. Love the hip belt pockets for easy access while hiking. I also really like the outside compression straps in order to cinch down smaller loads. I needed a pack this size that is a bit larger than a day pack. It will be perfect for an inn to inn hike I'm doing in Solvenia in the fall. This pack will easily accommodate a 1-2 night hike. My only nit-pick is why no small zipper pocket on the lid? I'll be taking this as carry-on, and having an easily accessible but secure pocket on the outside would be nice for passport, wallet, gum, phone, etc. I didn't even notice it didn't have one when I was looking on-line. My bad, that's on me, I'll figure something out.

Light weight, but still carries weight comfotably

I have an older version of Coulee 40 which I use regularly. It is super durable and I live the tri-zip access...but it is a bit on the bulky/heavy side. I swapped out for the Radix 31 and have used it on several hikes. I've loaded it with around 35lbs for testing and it carries very well. It feels a bit more comfortable than my coulee. The shoulder straps sit better and the pack seems to move with me better. I'm sacrificing a bit on ease of access into the main compartment, and there is no brain, but it's worth it for the weight savings and comfort.

Great pack with so much potential

I got this about a month ago. I have used it on three long day hikes so far. The build quality is up the Mystery Ranch's high standards, materials are holding up great for off trail bushwhacking in the Canadian Rockies. Simply love the Coulee style Yoke setup, super adjustable for the perfect fit.
