Why We Like The New Balance Minimus Trail Running Shoe
Bringing us closer to the trail, New Balance's Minimus Trail Running Shoe enhances our proprioception and agility on technical terrain. The minimal midsole cushioning springs every ounce of energy back into our transitions as it offers a touch of protection from the rocks and roots we bound over, and the multi-directional lugs reduce energy-leaking slips and slides while we're striding up and down steeps.

Yuck What is happened to new balance?
It is so bouncy and cushioning you cannot feel the trail. What a mess.

Comfortable Colorful Shoe
These shoes are very colorful and good looking, but they're also super comfortable. I love them for walking.

Will shop around for another shoe
Overly chunky, support in weird places. I miss the older style minimus

Not the Classic Minimus
Not like the classic NB minimus trail shoe. Wish NB would listen to it's customers and bring the old model back - it was well loved and had a loyal customer following. I have since switched to the Merrel brand. Thought these were the return, but sadly not the same shoe. Why change something that is working? 2 stars for the nice color.

Smaller and narrower than expected
Toe box was narrow, and the padding at the forefoot was off putting. Fit was smaller than I expected it to be, so it was too firm even after ordering a size up from my normal shoes. Flexibility was great though. And the breathable upper felt really nice. I just wish they had less shaped cushioning and a wider toe box. I loved the old minimus, these were disappointing.

New minimus, new features
This is not the old style minimus. I had the trail and road versions as my primary shoes for 15 years. These have a much more cushioned sole that are angled like other reviewers said. I HATED them when I first tried them on. I wore them for a 2 mile run and hated them less. After 10 miles I finally started to like them. I realized that the annoying heel cushion was amazing after doing hill repeats. The cushion has broken in after about 15 miles of running and I now love them. I purchased the wide version and the toe box has plenty of room. The upper is a little stretchy, and the shoe doesn’t get overly snug after running a few miles. It’s a completely different shoe from the old minimus, but it is a great shoe once broken in.

Stick to simple design.
What the heck is that junk hanging off the back of the shoe? Time to hire new designers.

Mt Isa Terrain Runner
Took these for a run in Mt Isa at the Telstra Hill where its pretty much dirt and desert. The terrain gets rough in certain parts of the track and i will say that the sole comfortably assisted the feel of all the nasty sharp rocks on some of the run. There's is some type of cushioning support to help impact blow at the outer heel of shoe. I found the amount of cushioning is perfect. I found the shoe quite stable and comfortable, i like the sole thickness. Can still get a feel of grooves on the road. I've never run a track without socks but with these i do so comfortably. Each to their own but I'm set on these for trail runs

Very good shoe
I loved the shoe but it was not good for my knees.

Great on the trails
I only run trails and this shoe feels pretty good. Doesn’t need much time to break in. Ran a long 1/2 marathon shortly after buying these. Good grip and enough cushion in the heel to lighten impact while letting my feet maintain control over rough and uneven surfaces. I like the center lace ups better than my old side bosa system. Not sure yet about the stretchy tops. I already bought a second pair. Fits true to size.
