Why We Like The Nidecker Supermatic Step-In Snowboard Binding

We know that strapless step-in binding technology can get convoluted with boot gaiters and deep snow getting in the way of a secure connection. Nidecker opted for rear-entry tech in their Supermatic Step-In Snowboard Binding, offering the convenience of a strapless binding without the unreliability. The Asym Hardon-Matic highback uses triggered Drop-In tech leans back to let our boot slip inside, and it engages with a step down on the binding's heel pedal. An easy-release lever and snow-resistant plate make entrance and exit as simple as can be.

Not meant for cold stormy days!!!

I bought these bindings and rode them almost 2 seasons. I rode them in all different conditions, what I have realized that these are great for warm sunny groomer days to save you some extra effort with the step in, but on cold stormy or powder days these bindings don’t function well at all! The step in feature froze up on me in 10 degree weather, and on powder days the system doesn’t always lock in as snow gets immersed into the locking mechanism. I actually had the bindings come out mid run due to the mechanism failing, lucky for me it was a powder day and no injury. And if you think I will use the straps when it’s powder day, the straps are hard to deal with, it’s like one big strap that is not as easy to get on. If you ride in cold and powdery days, then I suggest you go with a traditional binding or Burton step on (those held up better in cold / powder conditions).

Great bindings! Much more convenient once you learn how to use them, than conventional bindings... so glad I scored these!

terrible service use the bindings twice the lever broke and they won’t even help me. Send me a replacement binding or replacement part. These things were $400. They should be embarrassed to be a business with service like this. I will continue to let other people know that I ride with as well.

Game changer! I never leave reviews but I feel like I have to with these. After the initial setup I didn’t have to touch the bindings all day! It was incredible. After a little practice I could very quickly get in and out and saved me a whole bunch of sitting in the snow before and after getting off the lift. I fall down enough snowboarding, if I can keep myself off the snow a few extra times I’ll take it!!
