Updated for improved comfort and performance, while holding firmly to its classic looks, Nike’s Pegasus Trail 2 Running Shoe adds that extra spring in our step. Traditional lace-up style and drag-race profile help set the tone for this speedy trail shoe. Setting off under the mid-day sun, we notice the breathable and fast-drying upper mesh cooling our feet and evaporating the last mile’s creek crossing with ease. The updated Air Zoom unit at the forefoot provides a durable and responsive running experience. A cushioned midsole made of Nike’s React foam improves endurance while adding a bit of rebound to propel towards negative splits. I bought 2 pair
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I ended up buying this pair and the GTX blue and orange and I'm very impressed. These shoes are true to size, very comfortable and I'm enjoying them. I use them outside while training/walking my dogs.. on the weekends I spend a lot of time on my feet. I'm so glad I bought these shoes!

..and going strong on my first pair. Like the extra cushion over a more minimal shoe, has kept my foot comfortable on long runs (2+ hour runs) and zero pain from the day I put them on. No holes, the upper has really maintained, it's hardcore. Wear with ankle length socks and my heel stays put. I've had issues with blisters/durability using salomons in the past and glad I switched over because neither with this shoe. I initially tried a size 7 (my usual) but went up a 1/2 size because my toes were a bit squished, maybe if they give you trouble the sizing is your problem. Would recommend, writing this review while ordering another pair from backcountry.

If you have a wide foot, these are not the shoes for you. They look great, but sadly I had to return them.

Pro: If you are injured and need an extra cushioned shoe, this may be an option to try. Especially if you heel strike. Con: It is so cushioned it may cause your feet and legs to feel pain. The surfaces I tried these shoes on are concrete, gravel and wet dirt. I started to feel pain in my feet that I had not had before, in the center of my heel and the outer edge/lateral right side of my foot. Also, the material on the top over the toes is very tight and does not leave enough space for your feet to stretch, even though the material is giving. This may be because the cushion is so high that it doesn't leave a lot of room. Lastly, the shoe does feel a bit unstable. I found myself over compensating for the instability and developing leg pain. Even on hikes without running I felt pain developing. I was developing pain from the instability and from the extra cushioning. It is past the 30 day return period, I wish i could still return it. It was a waste of money.
