Well designed and functional
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- M
So far I have only used this hardshell for a winter ascent if mt Washington. Winds 40-50mph, but warm with temps in low 30F. This is my first product from norrona, so far I am pleased. I am 160lbs 5’ 10” and the M fits just right. Plenty comfortable with a light fleece and still enough room to put over my heavier down parka. I really like the long cut and coverage of the back of your hands and on your back side. The zippers for pockets and pitch zips are outstanding and work flawlessly. The hood only has one size adjustment and took a bit if getting used too. But it worked well once adjusted and there are no free straps to flap in the wind and do damage to your face. Is it worth the price, time will tell. But so far I am very pleased

Lives up to its top reviews. Solid zippers, good hood adjustments, wall-shaped cuffs. Excellent fit with room for midlayer. Completely weatherproof in rain and snow.

I wore the Norrona on a three-week trip to Ireland in the fall. This jacket rejected hours of rain each day, and left me comfortable and dry. Fits true to size and allows one to wear a midlayer fleece underneath. Would appear to be a good option in snowy conditions as well.
