Why We Like The Trollveggen Powerstretch Pro Full-Zip Hooded Jacket
When both the altitude and temperature are bound to switch between high and low throughout the day, we turn to the Norrona Trollveggen Powerstretch Pro Jacket for flexible and comfortable insulation during alpine adventures.
The unique wool blend under the arms and in the back does an exceptional job of thermal-regulation, odor-reduction, and keeping you warm even when wet, while the highly durable Polartec Powerstretch Pro withstands all the wear and tear you can throw at it and dries quickly all the while. It has a snug and ergonomic fit to maximize mobility in steep and difficult terrain, and the cuffs boast thumbholes to prevent exposing your skin to the cold and snowy.

Heavy Duty midlayer
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- Large
I bought this to use as an outer layer for hiking. I’ve worn it a few times and my impression thus far is that it’s quite warm, form fitting and will be excellent for cold weather. The only con might be that it’s a little on the heavy side. I’m 6’3”, 185lbs and bought a Large. The fit is perfect and am happy the sleeves and body are a little on the longer side. One really nice feature is that the front panels absolutely block the wind. Also the hood is snug and meant to be worn under vice over a helmet

Love This Jacket
- Size Bought:
- Men's small
- Height:
- 5' 5"
- Weight:
- 115
I was looking for a fleece jacket with water/wind resistant exterior to replace my Stoic Breaker that had wind pro in it. I LOVE this jacket. Front exterior is water/wind resistant, under the arms and back are PowerStretch Pro. Love the Pockets and hood is great when down or up (though doesn't have a toggle cord - you don't need one as it is fitted and deep enough to fit my ponytail that was on top of my head ). Hood would accommodate a bike helmet and could fit underneath one as well. It is midweight but will breath enough for hiking, BC (under a shell), or just bopping around. The thumbholes just up the game on this jacket. Fit is typical Norrona - athletic fit with longer arms and length provides good coverage w/o being too long in the torso. I got my usual men's small size and have room to layer. It is a keeper!!

Awesome Second Layer Jacket
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- M
- Height:
- 5' 5"
- Weight:
- 162
Just received this jacket and want to share my first impressions. I?ve only tested it as a true second layer with my Arcteryx Rush shell and have to say it is a perfect mid layer The material is stretchy and breathable and the panels of wool in the critical areas are perfect what I really like about the Norrona products is they put all the pockets in the right place and the two upper pockets on your chest are perfect. This is where my shell was slightly lacking and now my second layer will be equipped with plenty of storage. The outer surface of this jacket is smooth as it is not just fleece material. That said I envision this as a second layer on the colder days. This is also a standalone jacket and I?ve been wearing it now in the spring with just a high-tech T-shirt below. I absolutely love the feel of this jacket. It is formfitting and I am 55 and 162 pounds and it fits snug however perfect. The wrists have thumb holes so if you really wanna keep the wind out in your hands and wrists warm it?s great. The hood is also formfitting and when flipped down and the jacket is all the way zipped up it provides excellent protection to your neck all the way up to your chin. Again this is where Norona does well as the material on the inside of the front zipper is very comfortable against your chin or face if you were ducking in to stay warm. The hood does fit under my helmet no problem or just as a hoodie fits nice and snug and really keeps you warm For spring and fall this will be my go to jacket. I seem to be laying around the house wearing it too. Once winter comes back this will be my primary second layer under my ski shell I will pick up one more Norona second layer fleece jacket that is truly fuzzy fleece that I will look to make as a different second layer option for slightly warmer days. These are only my impressions I haven?t tested out everything extensively yet but at age 57 I?ve worn some clothing in my life I love this jacket and I love Norrona products

Beautiful Jacket - All time
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- L
- Height:
- 5' 9"
- Weight:
- 163
This is one of the all time mid-layers. It's absolutely a beautiful Jacket - but functional. The wool blend is genius and wicks sweat and keeps you dry. Design on point with with the patterning and color ways, Napolean pockets (always rock) with long zippers (on point). I used this snowboarding in Hokkaido and for going out at night. Simply all time. Nothing else comes close on the market. Fit is snug, I'm close to 5"9" 163 and bought a M my normal size and but returned it and got a large - L was perfection. I ended up buying the cool black after I got the caviar black. Norrona never ever stop making this.
