Why We Like The Oboz Katabatic Wind Low Hiking Shoe
Oboz takes fastpacking to a new height in the Katabatic Wind Low Hiking Shoe. With their Inertia of Motion (IOM) midsole, these shoes shed weight and boost response to keep hikers at their fastest pace. The IOM tech starts with ACTEnergy foam for cushioning comfort, followed by a forefoot-length forked carbon plate for propulsion. Finally, the nitrogen-infused ACTNitro foam provides response while keeping the shoe's weight low. Abrasion-resistant uppers and slip-resistant soles keep us steady while we charge up the trail.

Been hiking in Colorado for the past 5 weeks over all kinds of terrain. They are my fourth pair of Oboz and by far the most comfortable hiking shoes I have ever owned over the last 40 years! That being said, the downside is the light blue color and the breathable mesh fabric hold on to dust and dirt and do not clean off well. Secondly, yesterday I stepped on a very small branch, it pierced through the sole of the shoe. In all my years hiking this has never happened. See attached photo.
