Why We Like The Sawtooth II Low B-Dry Hiking Shoe
The Oboz Sawtooth II Low B-Dry Hiking Shoe is our get-up-and-go shoe for any and all of our outdoor adventures. It's got enough performance to tackle long days on the trail and extended backpacking trips, but sports a low profile design that won't be out of place on quicker adventures and around town.
You won't even be held back by rainy weather thanks to the B-Dry waterproof membrane, which also allows for breathable comfort when you start to really move. Support and stability come from the molded heel counter, cushioned EVA midsole, and underfoot nylon shank, while a classic Sawtooth outsole maintains steady traction while shedding mud and dirt so your shoes don't feel heavy on the trail.

Both my wife and I purchased the Oboz Sawtooth II and are happy with there fit, support, and keeping my feet dry while doing outdoor chores in wet conditions.

This is my 3rd pair of Oboz, having converted from a decade of wearing Keen hiking shoes and boots. The Sawtooth is distinctly different from the Firebrand II in my experience, being both softer out of the box and underfoot, and somewhat wider in the toe box. This makes it a better shoe in my mind for even ground or pavement, where the Firebrand excels on roots and rocks with its stiffer sole and overall rigidity. Interestingly, I've never thought I had wide feet, but I needed a 9W in the Firebrand, while the regular 9 fits me fine in this shoe. I also have a pair of Bridger 10s, a completely different animal, but I ordered it in 9W because of my experience with the Firebrand - probably would have been fine with the regular width, but now can go thick or extra socks so no biggie. This shoe looks like a Merrel and is softer like most Merrels I've tried. 4 out of 5 stars because the colors are more muted in real life than in the photos online. I would recommend this shoe to anyone who is a casual hiker or wants this kind of shoe in the city or on tamer trails. Oboz quality abounds in build and detail - they seem to be taking the lead in the "big 3" race between Keen, Merrel, and these crazy folks "Out Of Bozeman."
