Change in size and fit from previous

Long-time Oboz Sawtooth II wearer. Read that these run small so I went up from the Sawtooth II size 11 to Sawtooth X size 11.5. They feel too small. I don't be able to hike more than a few miles a day in them. I'm not happy.

Ordered a size 11 & 11.5 after reading reviews that these tend to run small. I normally wear standard width size 11 tennis shoes and work shoes. These shoes are quite narrow - length was OK on the size 11 but too narrow across the widest part of my foot.. The 11.5 was 1/2 inch longer (too long for me), and still too narrow. These shoes appear well constructed and based on that I would recommend to someone who could get a good fit.

Bought this shoe 2-3 years ago Size 10. The new shoes are much narrower - can't even get foot in. Length next to older shoe is 1/2 size longer. No choice for width; very odd.

After 35+ years of teaching and trying all types of shoes, I hit upon the idea of trying hiking shoes. I figured if they can handle a rocky trail, they could handle a concrete floor. Oboz have a great footbed that cradle my feet and are so comfortable. They are lightweight so it doesn't feel like I'm wearing ankle weights. My feet don't hurt at the end of the day. I have 4 pairs; 2 sawtooth x low, 1 arete low, and 1 arete low waterproof. They are my go-to shoes every day.

I e worn Oboz Sawtooth 2 for 10 years and loved them. I saw the new Oboz Sawtooth X and thought it must be an improvement. I WAS WRONG. There is something different about the foot bed. The bottom of my feet hurt after hiking just a little over a mile. This happened on about 5 hikes so it wasn’t just a break in period. The shoes we were also very tight fitting in the width. I returned them and will go back to the Sawtooth 2.

My New Go-To Hiking Shoes!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Out of all the pairs of low hiking shoes I've used, this one is by far my favorite. The shape of the shoe is wide and comfortable to accommodate the natural shape of your foot. The shoe also has great grip. My only initial reservation is that they are not super breathable, so I might keep from wearing thick socks or stay away from them on any hot summer days. Overall, this is a comfortable pair of shoes and great for day hikes. #BackcountryGearhead
