Conquer the water!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned the Old Town Bigwater PDL 132 for 4 years now and can tell you, this kayak embodies the name bigwater and other all is an amazing platform! It's fast, agile, stable, adaptable, and very customizable. The drill plates are really nice! They allow you to add accessories that require drilling holes to mount that accessory but you don't have to worry about drilling into the main kayak itself. But my favorite thing about the bigwater, the PDL drive in combo with that sleek, narrow hull! The Bigwater truly is a beast but can really get moving out on the water. I've been able to pedal it, bow into the wind and still hit 4mph - 4.2mph! That's great for a kayak! It's hull just eats waves too. The bow has a narrow point that is designed to split waves, make it easier for the kayak to keep moving through those conditions and I can't tell you how nice it is to have that feature being a trout troller up in the Rocky Mountains, dealing with wind waves, chop, and heavy wind. Other all, the Old Town Bigwater PDL 132 is the perfect kayak that gives you all of the features to be an amazing fishing platform but gives you that unique kayaking experience with it's narrow hull! I'd always recommend the bigwater!

My kayak of choice
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love how stable and comfortable this kayak is on the water!! Handles rough water well and makes me feel safe on the water. It’s my go-to fishing kayak and can keep up with all the fishing and catching I like to do. Pretty sure it comes with good luck too!

Awesome kayak very stable and fast
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this kayak about 8 months ago and really waited to provide accurate feedback. This is a great solid kayak, very fast and stable. I have been out in saltwater with high winds, swells and can still stand on this no problem. I have had many great adventures and caught countless fish and made many new kayak friends. Highly recommend this kayak to anybody interested. Easy to add on extras as well.

The previous model Predator PDL was better
I have a 2018 and a 2019 Predator PDL in Urban Camo (white, light gray, black), I love them and protect them because they are awesome. 2019 was the last year Old Town made the version i have with the aluminum rudder and locking front hatch cover. I have not tried one of the newer ones with the plastic rudder. But on paper I think the Bigwater PDL starting in 2020 is a downgrade in quality and a big increase in price. I have read reviews where people think the newer Bigwater PDL is not stable. I find this surprising because the boat looks the same as what I have. But i do wish Old Town would bring back the old design with aluminum rudder and especially bring back the Urban Camo color. The darker colors available now absorb too much heat in the Florida sun.

Perfectly stable kayak!
This kayak is extremely stable! Very fast and cuts through the water flawlessly. If you are rolling this kayak then it is your fault for not keeping center of gravity. This kayak is perfect for choppy water and going btb. I personally love it for shallow water sight fishing. I’ve compared this kayak to many out there and still have not found one better. If you spend enough time in it, to really learn it, you will love it.

Sorry, I have to disagree with these
I bought one of these thinking it was a stable kayak, but it is not. This kayak will flip on a dime. I went back to my old kayak because this one is dangerous in the water. You better off with a canoe. I thought Old Town would be a good buy because it has been around for yours, they make other good products. I'm an older man and this is not a good stable kayak. Now I can not get rid of it.

Very stable with a few needed changes
Purchased this last year. Very stable and easy to fish from. Navarre kayak makes mods to fix the issues this kayak has such a replacement rudder that is made of metal instead of plastic. Overall a great kayak. Just make sure you visit Navarre kayak Nick is a great guy and will help you set up this kayak right.

tested for over 7 years.
ok, a lot of reviews get written when the person has only just gotten the item. many want to know if someone likes the item years afterwards. so in a nut shell, ohhh heck ya! my wife and i own 2 of the preditor pdl's (now days big water) i have put like a million miles on them over the years and even to this day would not trade them for newer kayaks from other companies. (that right there says something) i have fished for halibut, kings, silvers, pinks, cod, trout to give you a idea. to say i love this kayak is just way understating it. i am a hard core fisherman in both salt and fresh water. if i only had one wish it would be that they made these when i was much younger! (on the up side, i did buy mine the very first year they came out!) these are truely incredible boats. i can fish all day with ease (i have a bad back so that was a big worry for me when i got mine) but i find i can fish longer in my kayak then i can in a normal boat or just shore fishing. even after YEARS AND YEARS of fishing in both the salt and fresh water the pedal drives are still going strong. (thats amazing!) i looked at many other kayaks such as hobbies, wilderness and pescidors just to name a few. bottom line, KILLER BOAT if you are on the fence, you are just waisting time and will kick yourself for having waited. to the guys at old town, THANK YOU SO MUCH! for building these wonderful boats!

Good kayak but doesn't less performance.
I've had it for a year now. I bought it to go beyond the breakers for fishing 6 miles out. I like it more than my tarpon 120x but it isn't better than my brother's top water 120 pdl. His is more stable and the speed is roughly the same. My bigwater pdl feels tippy to the left side and it is hard to jump out so I can drift it back in the surf.
