Why We Like The Bash Guide v2
The Bash Guide v2 is designed to offer chainring protection for enduro racing and trail riding, and it's a must for running downhill laps, too. Reinforced nylon bash guards and a backplate cut from 8-millimeter thick 7075-T6 aluminum ensure that this bash guide can handle big hits, and it's lightweight enough for us to forget it's even there.

Does what it’s supposed to
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I’ve got this on my 2021 Stumpjumper Evo and it’s saved my chainring several times already and isn’t any worse for the wear. Setup was simple and took about 15 minutes to remove the old chain guide and install the whole thing. I’ve got an absolute black oval chainring on the bike so I had to use the next size up bash guard to keep it from having one side of the pedal stroke where the chainring wouldn’t be protected, but it comes with three sizes so no issues there. Overall I’d say it’s a necessity if you’re planing on riding rowdy and don’t want to flatten teeth on your chain ring.

Chain Guard Too Narrow
Everything about this product seems great. The chain guard can be adjusted side to side with shims; however the guard it is too narrow, such that my chain rubs on either side of the guard in my highest or lowest gear, 11-speed cassette. This makes the product worthless.
