Why We Like The Orage Morrison Gilltek Hybrid Jacket
Orage takes the active insulated layer to the next level with the Morrison Gilltek Hybrid Jacket. In addition to the breathable stretch panels on the sides and arms offering greater airflow and mobility, the back is equipped with Gilltek technology. This baffle construction lays flat while we're still on the lift or peak, and they open up when we get moving to allow heat to dissipate through the mesh barrier. Synthetic insulation holds heat in the areas we need it most, and water-repellent tech prevents falling flakes from soaking in.

Great idea - mid execution
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
As someone who runs incredibly warm, too warm for most puffers, I thought this was an incredible solution and it is BUT! The construction is a little poor for the price point. the jacket is incredibly breathable. I could cool off amazingly with the wool siding and underarms when I opened my outer layer vents. Note that the wool sides will catch on any velcro waist adjustment on ski pants! After the first wash, ALL the filling clumped. It was awful. I had to work every single pannel to redistribute the filling. A simple baffle construction inside could remedy this. It still has not redistributed perfectly, but I will keep the jacket.
