Why We Like The Bike-Packer Plus Panniers
Both the panniers also feature Ortlieb's innovative QL2.1 system that lets you mount and release each pannier with a simple pull of a handle. Each pannier automatically locks onto the rack the moment you mount it; it's compatible with 16mm racks, but Ortlieb includes hook inserts to fit 8, 10, and 12mm racks as well. The QL2.1 system also features a semi-elliptical hook at the bottom that you can adjust and rotate to fit your rack so the pannier doesn't bounce as much as regular panniers. Ortlieb also added 3M Scotchlite reflectors to further enhance the visibility needed to ride in low light.

Great bags, as usual

I've owned another pair of Ortlieb bags for 14 years and they've held up well but I wanted a larger set. These seem like they have the same quality construction with fully adjustable mounting hardware to fit any bike rack. The internal zipper pocket keeps things organized and the outer pocket provides easy access to a lock, lights, etc. The detachable shoulder strap provides convenient portability off the bike.

The day I received these I took my family on a bike ride to go sailing for the day. We should have looked at the weather more closely because there was a big storm that day. We brought the panniers on the boat. We were stuck out for hours in torrential downpour. Everything stayed completely dry, bags exceeded my expectations for them. Ortliebs mounting system is a breeze to use with all our racks. This made me an Ortlieb customer for life! Also, Backcountry had the best deal on these and shipped quickly! I had to call because of an error I made with my card and the rep I spoke with was awesome and super helpful.
