Great for in Resort and in Backcountry
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
This was a splurge for me as I have a perfectly functioning Camelback winter backpack I've used for 15 years that served me fine. However I was planning on doing some backcountry days that would include up-hiking and wanted a way to connect my skis for some 1/4-1/2 mile uphill hikes. This was my first experience with this style pack and it performed great. It held my ancient bladder without issue and carried everything I needed. I really appreciated the small pocket in the waist as well as the accessible outer pocket. I felt like it held the weight at the proper height and would be easily adjustable with two sets of compression straps. It was no cumbersome on lifts when packed quite full with extra layers, etc. Finally, it was perfect as my carry on on the airplane. It is very convenient with the access to the main pouch from the back for laptop/ipad.

Works well in and beyond the resort

This backpack is very comfortable to wear and can hold enough stuff for a day skiing with my wife and son. The straps stay tucked away when getting on and off the lift. The backpack is rather light weight while providing good structural integrity. The front and back access make it easy to pack and retrieve things on snowy slopes. I also appreciate that this backpack appears breathable, which avoids moisture buildup on my back. I was able to carry skis, a snowboard and a helmet safely using the provided straps and helmet netting. All in all, well made and very useful for a day in snow country or a day hike.
