Excellent Pack! I purchased this

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent Pack! I purchased this pack for extended, 3-8 day, ski touring trips and so far it gets the job done. The external pockets are able to handle avi/snow gear, while everything else stays dry in the main compartment. In the past I've tried to cram everything I need into a Kamber 42, but it just winds up being too much weight for that pack to carry comfortably. The Exos handles the weight far more comfortably. The straps and back suspension are fantastic, no hot spots or chaffing. After my first trip, the only issue I had was accessing the hip pockets, the zippers just didn't want to close after opening them up. Once the pack was off and the hip belt was straight the zippers worked fine. Overall, I'm so happy I picked up a larger pack to handle the extra load. No more gear dangling off the outside of the pack, and more importantly, no more discomfort.

Great pack, easy adjustments, rides

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great pack, easy adjustments, rides like an extension of one’s torso. Disappointed with the Osprey propriety water bladder connection strap and while the shoulder straps are all designed to be small and lightweight it’s hard to reach up and find them while wearing the pack. Seems like they could have been a bit wider.

Would not buy again

I bought this pack 6 years ago, used it in 3 hiking trips— each trip between 7-10 days. Always stored inside when not in use in climate controlled environment. The water proofing coating has completely deteriorated leaving a disgusting goo all over the interior of the pack. I got less than 30 days of hiking use out of this pack. Very disappointed when I pulled it out to take my son for his first backpacking trip.

I received this pack as

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this pack as a replacement for my old Exos which could not be repaired. It fits well. I love the ability to move the straps to fit my torso. Still as comfortable as my old Exos which had 3,000 miles on it!! Thank you Osprey

Love this pack! I bought

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this pack! I bought it to hike the 100 mile wilderness in Maine and it did not disappoint. I averaged 35 lbs of gear and hardly noticed the pack was on my back.

A near perfect balance of light weight, comfort, durability, and features

Used this pack over 3 days and 30 miles summitting King's Peak in Utah. I purposely packed more luxury camp items for a total pack weight of 30 pounds. At that weight the pack was the most comfortable and least sweaty of any I've ever used. I nearly purchased the pro 55, but some of the features of the standard 58 really make for a more comfortable journey. I can always do the top brain and shave 4-5 ounces, if desired to get within 7-8 ounces of the Pro and hit the trail with far more comfort in the shoulder straps, hip padding, andplaces to lay my trekking poles.

Horrible Bladder Hanging System

If you use any bladder besides the most current Osprey bladder, then the hanging system will not work for you. It is only designed to be used with the newest Osprey bladder. The hanging system won’t even work with a previous Osprey bladder. The strap method is no longer installed and it has a strange clip that is only compatible with the newest bladder. Now your bladder will sink into the bottom of your park and the drinking straw becomes a lot shorter. Unfortunately, I found this out 2 days before my hike.

Just returned from a weekend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just returned from a weekend hiking in the Cranberry Glades section af the Monongahela National Forest. With food, water, and all my creature comforts items, my pack weighed in at 30 lbs. I couldn’t ask for a more comfortable pack. The adjustment options, along with the front stuff pocket proved to make my hike much more enjoyable. The only thing that needs to be changed is the cinch straps cross the side pockets. It was difficult to remove and replace my water bottles without first stopping to remove my pack.

Took this pack out for

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took this pack out for the first time and loved it! Still caries weight well and is very comfortable, while weighing a lot less than an atmos. Great pack if you have a decently light base weight!

Great ultralight all-rounder

Used this pack to hike 1000+ miles from Harpers Ferry to Katahdin on the Appalachian Trail. The best thing about this pack is how incredibly comfortable it is at under 3 lbs with 40+ lbs fully loaded. The weight is distributed evenly and the airspeed mesh is very comfortable. bag is super durable and adjustable as well. The "head" flap is super useful for storing small things. Only issue with it is that accessing a water bottle using the side pockets is next to impossible, so I had to get a third party strap attachment to be able to quickly access it. Overall, great backpack which strikes a great balance between features and price.
