Great traveler

It fits in the overhead compartment of all the flights I've been on so far! Solid interior packing space, and the detachable bag fits comfortably under the seat in front of you on the plane. Fits my laptop, a light zip-sweater, glasses, pens a small notebook, and room for more. I love that the laptop compartment doubles as a water bladder holder for day hikes. 20oz yeti Water bottle fits snuggly and securely in mesh bottle carrier.

overall aesthetic was minimal and

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] overall aesthetic was minimal and pleasantly clean | general functionality, especially in regard to back support and convertibility was great | the integration of the day pack has the right intent but was not as secure as desired, especially when both fully packed and connected | the day pack chest strap broke day one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pack was exchanged for the Farpoint 55 as I was wanting a pack that could be used as a carryon for air travel. If able to check a bag, then this pack is the one for you!

Best Travel Backpack Ever

This bag is worth every penny. I've had my for about 10 years now and it has never let me down. I mostly use it for backpacking and have taken it through Central and South America and several times to Asia. The detachable pack is a game changer. It's easy to fly with and comfortable to wear. Some of the clips and cords are starting to break down due to so much wear, but I expect that given the amount of abuse it has been through. I'm very happy with my purchase and will likely be getting a new pack soon!

I love mine

I really don’t enjoy taking my rolling suitcase if I can avoid it, because between myself, my wife and son we would have a lot of luggage for two people to move, so I tend to take my farpoint with me to free my hands up and needless to say I’m a fan. It’s perfect for me and will use the daypack as a carry on or a pack for around town once we get to where we’re going. If you’re on the fence, it’s worth the purchase

10 Years of Heavy Use!

I've used this bag for 10 years now; the small pack daily and the large bag for a number of trips each year. It's worked perfect and held up great. Over time, some of the zipper cords have worn and broke, but they are easy to replace with other cord material. Fits a travel guitar if you put in first… which I take everywhere with me. Worth every penny.

Excellent backpack except for internal compartments.

This is a review that I wrote elsewhere. Hello, Twin Never Ending Footsteps! Good post that reaffirms my faith in Osprey Packs. Initially and short-sightedly, I wanted to return it as lack of any internal compartments made this a lame choice. Thanks to a promise-breaking friend (no longer a friend as what good one is without his word!) who claimed it on the day I was to drop it off to the USA returning friend and later refused to buy it, flat out, I was stranded with 'this thing'! The falling in love was gradual, like in an Indian arranged marriage. Today, I cannot imagine going out without this unimaginably-comfortable backpack. Cheers for #Osprey70! The hip-belt is an act in itself. This is the first one that I have seen that tightens when pulled together as against pulling away. This system blew my mind off as the ease of adjustment goes 10 notches up, immediately! Packing for shorter trips is a pain (because of the lack of compartmentalization) and for those I got a Field & Stream Shop 55 External. (I have added some packing cubes in my arsenal and still packing is a slight pain. I cover everything with my towel and lungi and then cinch the internal straps. It works great, that way. Am still learning tricks to pack it without using smaller packs in it and the going is good! Cheers, again, Your twin, Ra. ""Osprey will repair any damage or defect for any reason free of charge – whether it was purchased in 1974 or yesterday. If we are unable to perform a functional repair on your pack, we will happily replace it."" UPDATED:- From 4 to 5 stars. Why! My falling in love with it is complete! It is near perfect but I still miss compartment that could have been suggested/recommended/unsold in the nonexistent owner's manual. 'Pwner's' manuals have gone out of fashion, methinks, due to cost-cutting/rationalisation measures by all companies! The world will never see the top quality products of 60-70s, anymore.
