Not Excited At First...
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I bought this for a trip to Scandinavia with my family. When it arrived I was not excited about the zippers to the main compartment. They seemed awkward to use. I considered returning it, but the price I got for the overall heavy duty quality of the backpack were tough to let go. I ended up keeping it and took it on the trip. I'm glad I did. Once the bag was packed my struggles with the zipper disappeared. The bag opens up and can be packed, and items may be accessed, like a duffle bag. It was much easier to get to items at the "bottom" of the backpack when I could fully unzip it like a duffle bag, rather than rummaging around the bottom through a top access point like a regular backpack. If i was limited on space and couldn't sprawl out to use the duffle bag mode, I left the sides clipped (to ensure it didn't fall open) and opened the top like a normal backpack. I was shocked at how much I could fit into the backpack. What was even more shocking was I could carry all that weight comfortably on my back with the waist strap on. If I didn't feel like wearing it on my back, I simply slid the horizontal clips over the handle of my rolling luggage. I am very happy with this backpack!
