Radial 34L Backpack
You're the type of commuter that's a biker and, out of necessity, a walker (maybe even a sprinter when that meeting is in five minutes). Panniers just don't do it for you, and you need a lot of space, but you want a backpack that's comfortable and can keep your stuff organized. Cue the Osprey Radial 34 Backpack. When you're commuting on your bike, the Airspeed backpanel and perforated EVA foam harness keeps your shoulders cool while you're pedaling with a loaded pack. The Lightwire framing system gives this pack some backbone for a more comfortable fit. If you're riding over road rubble, the removable nylon waist belt adjusts via the modified ErgoPull system to supplement pack stability.
A top-access, dual-zippered tech compartment stores your laptop and tablet in separate padded sleeves. The main compartment offers document sleeves for lab reports or EBIDTA spreadsheets as well as mesh organizers for your calculator, gum, erasers, and pencils. The LidLock helmet clip holds your helmet when you're not on the bike, and a discrete compartment holds your U-lock when you're in transit. Both the pack and the integrated rain cover have blinker light attachment tabs and a bit of reflective material. Regardless of the weather, clip on your favorite flashing light so motorists have a chance of seeing you.

The kickstand is invaluable! Especially
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The kickstand is invaluable! Especially when in meetings and you need to stash it under the table. It even securely stands up with my laptop is in it. Expansion panel is handy. Well thought out design that extends beyond the bike commute!

Love this backpack. It fits
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this backpack. It fits under the airline seat in coach. And on its side, it is held well enough by my wheeled carry-on handle. As for compartments, it’s the best. My Rez name is Paul Many Pockets. My husband jokes that my middle name is Too. Ha ha! Seriously, this would be a five star if the water bottle side pocket where a skosh bigger. It’s hard to get a small HydroFlask fully contained in it. And, the waist belt seems to be more of a belly belt. Tried the ergonomic adjustments, but they didn’t do the trick.

Nice Backup. Needs a Couple Changes
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- 34L
I use this backpack for my regular commute to work. It is the perfect size, especially with the ability to expand it. I also find it very comfortable. We'll see how it is in the Summer. My only complaint is that I hate interior pockets that aren't zippered. That would make this backup even better. I use packing cubes inside the backup to make sure smaller items don't get lost because generally speaking, anything that you put in them eventually falls out.

Awesome backpack
I bought this in black before the new colors released and I have to say it's possibly the best commuting backpack for cyclist. The built quality is good, the expandable storage is good, the straps are good. The only negative things I can is that this has the weakest Lidlock of all my Osprey packs (I own 3) I had to tie the elastic band 2 times to get a tight enough grip on my helmet. The "kickstand" that is advertised doesn't really work 70% of the time the backpack has to be perfectly loaded for it too want to stand without falling to the side. Lastly the stranger water bottle holders are ok but I honestly don't see the benefits of having them be slanted. Other then those 3 complaints this backpack is meant for serious commuters and it won't let you down.

Nice Bag but zipper attachments broke within a week
I love this backpack in terms of look, feel and function. I was very disappointed when one of my favorite features the zipper attachment pulls broke in less than a week of very light pulling. So expect this backpack to look nice and feel nice but just break in areas the company cares less about. They offered me to send it in at my own cost and take a month to repair which was tough too.

Exactly what I needed
Been using this bag for my daily bike/train/bike commute. It is perfect. Most of the time I have a single laptop and misc gear. On some days, I can have two laptops. I also use it for overnight business trips. The expansion zipper makes for enough room to cram a light jacket and extra shirt and toiletries along with my gear. This pushes the limit of the bag size, but sure beats carrying a second bag. Osprey continues to impress me with their quality builds. I've been banging this thing day in and day out for about 15 months and it is holding up perfectly.

Great city commuter pack. My second in the Radial line.
My old Radial 26 wore out after a few years of daily rough use. Initially I had replaced it with a Syncro 20, which is a fine pack, but it doesn't have nearly enough space for my commute. I need a backpack that fits lock and cable, a couple of thermoses, a food container or two, socks, underwear, laptop, sundry items... Luckily, I was able to find this Radial. It's larger than the old 26, but that's barely noticeable when on my back (it does block a little of my view over the shoulder, but not much), and that also means it has all of the space I need, and then some. The reason why I didn't buy this pack before the Syncro is because I couldn't find it! The packfinder has no ""commuter"" option. The shop dropdown menu has no ""commuter"" option. So I was looking at ""cycling"" packs instead. Osprey would do well to add a very clearly visible ""commuter"" category to their site.

Got to be one of the best commuting back packs on the market
I have the older style Radial 26. Use it 3 to 4 times per week for commuting anywhere between 30 and 60km a day. I have recommended this bag to a few friends and at least one has bought one. It feels heavy when you pick it up, but the design is such that it doesn't feel heavy when you put it on. To be fair, I have my laptop and my work clothes (including shoes) in the bag for my commute so it's going to be heavy regardless. The tensioned mesh layer which sits on your back makes it comfortable and breathable. Previous backpacks used to be soaking wet with sweat after the commute, only the straps on this one get sweaty. Whoever designed this bag is definitely uses the product, it so weel though out. All the right pockets inall the right places e.g. a built-in retractable cord in the side pocket for keys, waterproof cover tucks into pocket on the bottom. I could go on. Improvements: 1. Lighter: Maybe the new one at 1.5kg is lighter. I don't know how much mine weighs (I'll still replace it with the same, when the time comes, regardless) 2. Brighter: even reflective. Black is dark and you need to be seen on a bike. The rain cover is yellow but reflective panels on the bag would help. 3. Niggly issue: the plastic piece for tightening the rain cover in place digs into your back. Humour: the front buckle has a built-in whistle....useful if you crash at sea!!!
