This is the second Seral
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second Seral 7 I bought, this time for my friend because she has been complimenting mine so much. I love that I can take it biking or hiking. It is roomy enough for snacks and a light layer. The only negative is that the water hose does not stay in place and detaches easily from the magnet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Incredibly comfortable bag that my super sexy amazing boyfriend got me! Plenty of room for snacks and gear and it doesn’t ride up or shift during rides.

Hose magnet attachement is an epic fail
Similar to another review, the magnet is too weak to hold the hose over bumps. On my first ride with this pack I rode thru a rock garden and the hose detached and got caught in my rear wheel, shredding the bite valve and losing the hose magnet and dumping out all my water. After a month of contacting Osprey they said that I would have to contact HydraPak for warranty service on those parts as it's not made by Osprey...bought the parts locally but so much for an "Almighty Guarantee". I bought an additional hose magnet at my own expense and used some fabric glue to attach the base about an inch away from the one on the pack to have 2 magnetic attachments instead of one. Smart right? That should do it? Wrong...riding with friends on a rough trail again the hose detaches, into the rear wheel and pulls off the bite valve and lose all my water again. Pretty soured on this pack maybe I'll look at adding a carabiner like the other reviewer did. At this point if I use it again I will keep the hose end in the pack until I'm at a stop then unzip it to drink some. I don't trust the hose attachment after 2 epic fails and my poor response from Osprey.

Great bag- poor hydration planning
Great quality Osprey bag that fits well and holds a ton of stuff. The problem is the hydration hose that wraps around your waist and the small weak magnets that secure the hose to the bag/ hip. These magnets are not designed for mountain biking as any medium sized bump results in the hose coming detached from the magnet and hanging precariously down your leg. I've had to use a caribiner clip on the hose and the hip pocket to keep the hose in place. Thankfully the hose has never wrapped up in my chain or tire and dragged me off the bike. I have inquired with Osprey about a stronger magnet system for the hose and bag and am waiting for a reply. Till then, I ride without the hydration pack and use one water bottle on my frame and another bottle stashed inside the bad.

Good hip pack, expected Osprey quality
Never thought I'd buy a fanny (hip) pack, but I did. The construction is of Osprey quality and has the usual design (e.g. key clip, net pocket, inner zippered pocket). It does need to be cinched down pretty well to keep from sliding off. After I started riding, I forgot it was on and it was nice to slide it around to get things out. Plenty of room for snacks in the belt zip pockets. The magnet is a bit weak that holds the bite tube and I wish it had 2L for longer summer rides or a way to hold a water bottle. The bladder does take up a lot of storage space, I do realize I'm asking for more water storage yet complaining how much room it takes up.

Super Disappointed. Go with Camelbak.
So frustrating just trying to fill this thing since you can't detach the hose, which you can do with camelbak. Also no water bottle holders which the camelbak also has.. the hose is super freaking long too, I had to cut mine down. It still just doesn't fasten properly and caused lower back pain when fully loaded. I honestly purchased this because I saw so many other people with them when hip packs were starting to get big. Don't be like me though go with camelbak or EVOL they fixed the mistakes on this pack, I wouldn't get this one unless you want to be disappointed.

Uncomfortable and hose is insecure and hard to use
I loaded this full with water and about 2 lbs of food and tools for a 6 hr gravel & road ride. Immediately, I noticed it would not stay put unless I cinched the belt (and compression) so tightly, it was uncomfortable...and then when standing, it would still slip on my lycra bibs. Hose is very difficult to reconnect to the magnet...needs a spring loaded lanyard/retractor to guide it back, and it popped loose in rough terrain and was dangling against my rear wheel. I gave up and stowed the hose planning to use it to simply refill my bottles, and the hose took a permanent kink and appears to have a crack developing.
