Talon 11L Backpack
When our weekend calls for a fast-moving day hike on Saturday, and then a mountain bike ride on Sunday, we pull on the lightweight and versatile Osprey Talon 11 Backpack. The Talon 11 offers room for trail maps and a rain shell, as well as bike tools and a spare tube in the front zippered pocket. The mesh-covered padded shoulder straps and hip-belt comfortably hug our torso, while a sternum strap keeps the backpack from shifting side-to-side while we're scrambling up big rocks or carving through singletrack turns.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although this is sold as a small backpack, it is mighty perfect for a day hike. Love the top zipped compartment, great for stowing those most important items that you need without searching. Along with the perfect zipped area on the waist belt - fits my iPhone 15 perfectly. This pack just keeps on giving you options to place items that you need quickly without stopping to take everything out to find what u need! Oh and the outside side pockets on both sides are ideal for water bottles. And if you really need water, you can buy the bladder accessory as this pack is bladder ready! Must mention it had an easy clip for a biking helmet, and my trekking poles easily attach to the straps. This pack makes my hikes even more enjoyable!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the Talon 11! This is my second one, the first lasted around 18 years before puppy shredding and worn out zippers did it in.

This pack is versatile and
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pack is versatile and comfortable. Fits enough to do a 1 day up and down Mt. Whitney to easy day hikes. I put a 3L bladder in mine and the weight of the bladder does pull the keeper at the top of the pack down and deform it a little. My wife uses a 2L and her Talon 11 doesn’t experience this. Overall an awsome product, durable and comfortable.

The quality of this pack
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality of this pack lives up to every other Osprey pack I've owned. I've used it on multiple treks from 3 to 5 miles and several hikes of 10 miles. It has plenty of space to cover all I need. A couple water bottles on the sides takes care of the shorter hikes and an added hydration packs works on the longer hikes and still leaves room for essentials and snacks. The reason I gave it 3 stars is due to design. The side water bottles are hard to get out without pulling the pack off and the hip pouches are great for a wallet but real tight on my Samsung 22 ultra. When I go with my wife, I carry her poles on the pack. Having them up under your arm is not the most user friendly place for them. I use the ice pick holders. This works much better but still leaves a little to be desired. Overall I enjoy this pack especially because of the quality. I would not get it again due to the design. I would look for one a little more suited to my preferences.

great fitting bike-packing backpack

I bought this for a bike-packing trip and test-drove it on a couple of hikes recently. I'm very pleased with my purchase...it is very comfortable and fits me better than any small backpack I've ever owned. It has a hydration bladder, a place to attach a bike helmet, 2 external sleeves for water bottles or other items, places to clip things on, and 2 small zippered compartments on the waist band. The straps are easily adjustable and there's a chest strap in addition to the waist and shoulder straps. This pack is light, comfy, and just right for what I was looking for. And it's in a beautiful lime green color that's easy to spot.

Great Pack
Spent a couple of weeks hiking in Spain and this pack delivered. I was looking for a smaller day pack, but glad I was talked into a pack with padded straps and waist belt. I love the pole carry feature on this one and my Kestrel 38, it really makes a difference! I take this one out for every bird outing and day hike, the perfect size, very comfortable. I never had anything get wet, even without my rain cover.

Who measures these?
I have been looking for a small hiking/biking pack I ordered a Talon 11. It is huge. It has more capacity than my Deuter Speedlite 20 which I have been using for years. I then ordered a Raptor 10 which should only be a liter smaller than the Talon. It is less than half the size. Pretty ridiculous claims. The Raptor is the size I was looking for. However there is no external water bottle pocket for me to carry bear spray with quick access.
