Tempest 30L Backpack
It's Friday afternoon and you had a long week at work. A full Saturday or even a quick overnight up in the mountains would do you a world of good, and the Osprey Women's Tempest 30 Backpack is ready for a quick pack-up-and-go. The designers at Osprey molded the Airscape to fit the female torso comfortably, and it acts somewhat like a chimney to ventilate any excess heat so your back isn't a sweaty mess when you reach your campsite.
Biostretch covers the shoulder straps and waist-belt for maximum comfort and breathability while you hike, and the ErgoPull tabs cinch across your waist for an ideal fit. This top-loader fits the supplies you need for a dawn-to-dusk trip or a light overnighter, and you can remove the top lid and use it as a separate bag to stash a point-and-shoot and snacks in it for a quick scramble up to the ridge. The Tempest 30's hydration sleeve is easily accessible for quick refills, side stretch pockets can fit extra water or some snacks for the trip, two zippered pockets at the waist-belt store items you might need on the trail like lip balm or sunscreen, and one front mesh pocket holds your map, a book, or a last-minute item you might want before you head out.

Mr bean
Really enjoyed this product, issuing it to female clients that have not had a 'female fit' bag before and hearing from the client about it's vastly superior comfort and features.

Most comfortable long distance hike pack.
I walked 500 miles across the north of Spain with everything I needed in this pack. It was exceptionally comfortable and I can’t recommend it enough if you are walking the Camino de Santiago.

Gives me the worst back pain
No matter how I adjust this bag, it gives me the craziest back pain. It's been 5 years of it. Such a disappointment with how much I paid for it, but hoping to find a friend who'll take it off my hands for me.

Backpack is too small and inconvenient
I had high hopes for this bag, but after 6 months of heavy field work use, I cannot recommend it. The back frame and the water bottle holders take up so much space that the internal capacity suffers. I have a Celeste 29 and it holds almost double what I can ti in this supposedly 30L bag. There are only two smaller pockets in the whole bag. Nowhere to put pencils or sunglasses. Pros: - The back frame and its adjustability is nice - Nice water bottle holders that haven't stretched out yet - Stuff area on the front is convenient Cons: - Water bottles take up internal pack room - Not enough pockets! And none are easily accessible (for pencils, first aid) except the front stuff area which is not secure - Does not come with a rain cover - Difficult to access belt pockets when the belt is clipped - If you put anything in the top pocket it's very difficult to zip back up - Top carrying strap annoyingly hides in the frame, and is not comfortable to use

Nice pack, but the fit was too small
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- Womens Large
- Height:
- 5' 9"
- Weight:
- 160
Make sure you measure based on the size chart recommendation (measure from the nape of your neck to a spot on your back, about where your hips are). I thought the womens large would have been big enough for me, but the back was designed pretty small. I ended up going with a different Osprey pack in a mens large.

Love it
Excellent pack. It's light enough that if I am hiking and it just using it for water and snacks it's perfect. But I can also pack it full of clothes and whatever I need for a trip. The main compartment is quite large, but it also has many extra pockets and zippers which are perfect for organizing.

So Comortable!
I went from a daypack without load lifters to this little slice of heaven and can honestly say it's been night and day. My posture is better, my shoulders don't hurt, and I can bring an impressive amount of stuff with all the storage this pack boasts. Love Love Love! And not to mention the color is beautiful and vibrant (Violac Purple)

Does not carry enough weight
I bought this pack at a store and thought it would be great for day hiking, but I'm going to have to return it. It wasn't clear at the store that this only accommodates 10-20 lbs. Just the water for a long hike will use up a lot of that. I also like to do photography while I hike, and this pack, while physically large enough, cannot support even a days water and food plus camera stuff. I had hoped to use it for work fieldwork as well, but it is definitely not capable of lugging equipment with that weight limitation. It seems most Osprey day packs now have this reduced weight limit (probably fabric/material choices), so I will have to go with a different brand. The frustrating thing is that Osprey's main competitor sells a size 28L that is only 4 oz heavier than this pack but can carry 35 lbs. 4 oz is less than my cellphone. So frustrated these packs have become so limited.
