The shirt looks nice and fits me fine but the fabric is very rough, definitely not something I want next to my skin. Sadly, going back.

Excellent base layer
This is the second Merino Crew that I have bought. I very much enjoy the first so needed a second. I use this as a base layer for snowboarding, hiking, and everyday wear under a button up. I wear it as my outer layer over a t-shirt for mountain biking. They wash up great and have been very durable compared to my 100% wool base layers. The fit and colours are great. My only complaint was that it was a tad scratchy at the start, but has become softer with use.

Great base layer
- Size Bought:
- Small
- Height:

- Weight:

I have 3 different versions of this top now. It’s a great base layer. I think it runs a bit large, since size small fits me and isn’t tight. I’m 5’7” and 140lb and medium would be huge on me.

Perfect baselayer
Keeps me warm, lightweight and helps with sweat too! True to size.

This does not feel like a base layer to me
I was in need of a new base layer and was excited to see the merino wool crewneck. When I opened the package, I was very surprised and thought that I had received the wrong item. It is very thin, so thin that it is see through. Does not feel like a warm material at all. I will be returning.

A great basic for my apparel quiver
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- M
- Height:
- 5' 4"
- Weight:
- 150
The Alpine Onset has lived in my apparel quiver for a couple years now, and it is my go to for an active, cold weather base layer. It's comfortable, dries quickly, and is much less expensive than a 100% wool alternative. Having the wool content allows it to feel comfortable against my skin, but the synthetic content allows it to dry more quickly and last longer. It is clearly more durable than my 100% base layers and I can wash and dry it without fear of it shrinking! YAY! You will love it! Leta OR Rep

Warm and cozy base
I use as my base layer on hikes when it is around a freezing temperature. Always keeps me warm!

Best fitting wool crew!
All the wool companies are making the long sleeve crews now, but none are long enough to go past the waist and really stay tucked in! Also, OR's is shaped perfectly for a female body - comfortable sculpting, but not ridiculously narrow. People who are sensitive to the texture of wool might struggle with it...not the softest out there, but I have zero issues with it.

Great shirt well made.
Nice underwater. A bit higher price point than I would normally pay for a under layer .
