Dry and Warm

Sometimes you want a lighter, thinner glove that makes it easier to manipulate things in your pack, pull skins, dig pits, etc. Other days you want a glove that keeps you warm and dry when it’s dumping and windy on the chairlift. These are those gloves. The inner liner can be pulled out to dry faster, and the long gauntlet shell keeps rain and snow where it’s supposed to be. I supplemented the included Nikwax for better coverage and seam sealing. So far these are my favorite in-bounds gloves in years, better than the Hestras and Kincos I have used in the past.

Good glove, horrible fit.

I was disappointed by these gloves. They have all the quality you would expect from the brand....well made, premium materials and very warm. HOWEVER, the fit is horrible. I recieved a pair of Large gloves which were sized more like a Medium. The large were way too tight and wouldn't allow my full finger in the glove. I paid the fees for returning this product and ordered the XL, since I really liked the glove. The XL fits like an XL should. It is way too big. I don't think I am crazy, as I have owned many gloves and mittens in the past and never experienced this struggle. I am stuck with these giant expensive gloves now. Maybe my hands will grow.

Warm and functional

I found the gloves a solid pick for an all-around glove that will keep you warm while still keeping some dexterity. The removable liner improves on this flexibility. The only problem with the Arete is that the niche they fill is kind of awkward. For skiing in cold temperatures a ski mitt is going to be more comfortable. For climbing, you may want something that gives you more dexterity, with an overmitt for warmth. On the other hand, if you want a well-made, versatile glove that's pretty good for everything without being optimized for anything in particular, this is the one.

Super warm

These gloves are warm and waterproof. They are also easy to dry with the removable liner. It is nice because in warmer conditions you can just wear the shell. Or if the shell isn’t needed you can just wear the liner.. I highly recommend this glove.

Tested in Antarctica

These gloves were used on an expedition cruise to Antarctica where I did zodiac rides and hiking. They kept my hands warm in sub-freezing temps, no issue! They are bulky so you loose some dexterity, but that’s just how it’s going to be with these gloves. It was nice to be able to remove the GorTex outer and use the inner glove on more temperate days. Would recommend to anyone who needs a solid cold weather glove.

Great Winter Gloves

Very similar to the Firebrand Line from OR. Keep your hands warm and dry. Great for hiking, camping, skiing, winter work.
