Why We Like The Outdoor Research Aspire Super Stretch Jacket

When snagging summits and sends, we stuff the Outdoor Research Aspire Super Stretch Jacket in our pack. The high-tech build armors us against the mountain's outburst, shielding us from icy gusts and sudden downpours with its ultralight, highly breathable GORE-TEX PACLITE construction. To ensure we can still scramble unrestricted, Outdoor Research placed a high-stretch insert panel in the upper back that's just as breathable and weatherproof as the rest of this technical shell. As the heat starts to build, we open the side vents, boosting airflow through the grind.

Stylish and keeps me dry!

I got this jacket for a trip to Glacier later this year. I've had several rain jackets by big name brands but they didn't keep me dry - this was on several lists as a top choice with a high ranking for dryness. Had an Initial test outside in a storm and it held up well - all dry! It is very high quality and I am excited to use it more in the years to come!

Great jacket but...

Love this jacket -provided excellent waterproofness on a 7 day canoe trip where it rained most days. I purchased the jacket less than a year ago and one of the front pockets has worn right through. THe material in the pocket is very thin and I am super disappointing in the quality of them. Based on this alone, I would not recommend. :(

Favorite jacket

Jacket is comfortable, room to layer underneath, length and cut are flattering, and waterproof/windproof in all the elements. I bought one size up than my typical small to leave extra room to layer sweatshirts/sweaters and it fits perfect. Great stretch, the wire in the hood is great, especially with how roomy the hood is, no wind/rain getting through this jacket.

Not quite as waterproof as I was hoping

I love the cut and especially the zippers at the side - I can protect my camera when on a hike or adjust it for comfortable bike riding. Packs up small and light so it will be great for travels later this year. But I was hoping for miracle fabric. I wore it in Vancouver drizzle for about three hours and arrived home with a damp back and arms. Not soaked. Just damp. It has its limits and I will dress accordingly.

Exactly the jacket I was looking for!

I needed a waterproof jacket for a 4 day expedition race. The versatility of this jacket made it the perfect waterproof layer. The jacket breathed well, especially with the side vents. I stayed dry during a downpour. It kept the wind out while biking overnight. I paired it with a thin down and was comfortable when the temperatures dropped. The fit was as expected and flattering. I wouldn't have changed a thing about it.

Love this jacket

I recently wore this as a waterproof layer over a puffy jacket during a moderate snowshoe trip and also in decent "Seattle" rain and stayed dry. I've only worn twice so far and I love it.

Excellent Rain Coat for Outdoor Activites

I bought this coat because it said "super stretch" and it is just that. I bike in the rain frequently and I love how this jacket is so thin and stretchy. I use it as a waterproof top layer to whatever I'm wearing and I am obsessed that the side zippers go from pit to hip. It's truly one of the most versatile jackets I own.

Amazing Warranty

This jacket was a warranty replacement for an older raincoat I bought from Outdoor Research. I am so happy with the warranty service and will go out of my way to buy Outdoor Research over other brands because of how I was treated.
