Fabric is problematic
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- S
- Height:
- 5' 2"
- Weight:
- 125
I am returning this because the fabric picks up every bit of lint and hair. If you have a dog this is not the coat for you. After wearing it for an hour it looked like it was 10 years old. Also for the price it seems cheaply made. No zipper cover, small pockets, no fleece lining like my last parka, and also not very warm compared to others I have owned. Do not recommend.

Not water resistant. Gets wet when it’s snowing ou
I had to take 2 stars off because it’s not water resistant. I tested it out outside on a day when it was 20F and snowing. This parka got wet within 2 hours. Pretty disappointing because I like the fit and it would be great to ware it in winter but I guess only on days when it’s not snowing here. Cons: it’s not heavy and roomy. (I’m 5’4” 143lb between size 4-6 and kept Small, M was too big).

Feels like a warm hug
Native Minnesotan here. This jacket feels just like a warm winter hug - I’m on winter #3 with mine and it’s the jacket I’m most excited to pull out of my closet every year. Frigid dog walks when your dog insists on the long route? You’ll be cozy. Bonfire hangs? You’ll be cozy. Deciding to leave the office to walk for lunch for a break from your coworkers after your boss forced you back to the office? You’ll be cozy. This is my most “recommended” product for friends - four of them bought it after trying my coat. It holds up, washes well, and is a warm dream. Seriously, get this coat. Originally, I order two sizes - a small and a medium. I opted to keep the medium to allow for layering under it and feel great about that choice!

Really warm
This coat is excellent. When I wear it I’m never cold. I really appreciate the extra zippers to help make walking easier.

Perfect for prairie cold
This is seriously the most comfortable and well designed jacket I have ever worn. The zippers are sturdy and the inside material is perfect for layering. The neck is high enough and the hood is lofty enough to keep me warm all the way to -25

The warmth you need
I just moved to Salt Lake City and needed a jacket that would encourage me to get out and go for a walk during the winter. It’s like wearing a sleeping bag. I am so so thankful i bought it. I also bought an outdoor research jacket that was shorter and has a gortex shell. I believe the gortex does help keep the warm in, will obviously protect against wind and rain, but the length of this one makes a difference. It’s still very warm despite not having the gortex outter and the length really does add a component of warmth to my legs and body. Highly recommend

Why didn't I buy this years ago?
I'm so happy with this jacket. I've never had a long coat. I use this jacket for cold days, hikes, and snowmobiling back and forth to my house (yes we live in one of those communities) and I wear it so I don't have to wear snow pants. It protects my legs and butt while out there. It has three zips (one in front and two on sides), so you can do almost anything while wearing it. It is light but warm. I got the off-white color and love it so much!

Warmth Without the Bulk
This jacket is perfect for very cold temperatures without the heaviness of a warm coat. I am pleasantly surprised how warm it keeps me without being bulky and heavy. Very easy to move in. The side zippers are a bonus. Love this coat!

Arctic Ready
Bought this for a 2 week winter trip in Norway and Svalbard and it kept me plenty warm! Don’t forget those wool layers underneath though. For being so lightweight it helped keep the wind from cutting through and held up on windy boat tours. I did see a couple feathers pop out here and there but nothing major. I bought the black version and it did pick up a couple mysterious stains but I really did put it through the wringer. The puffy hood was really nice but didn’t cinch to my face very well so when it was extra windy I layered a fleece hood underneath, highly recommend.
