Excellent Shorts
They gave the Ferrosi's an adjustable waist draw chord so you don't have to wear a belt. Excellent shorts, high quality, nice fit, and feel.

Best hiking shorts ever!
Outdoor Research Ferrosi Shorts are my go-to shorts for hiking! They are fantastic for anything from a short day hike to a multi-day trek! They are lightweight, tough and very comfortable! They last a long time, which doesn't surprise me because all Outdoor Research products are of the highest quality and dependable!

Favorite New Hiking Shorts
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I bought these for a backpacking trip and I’m so happy I did. They fit a bit snugger in the legs/crotch than my other shorts, and I was initially concerned about that. But the stretchy material is the key here and they move easily as needed. It also makes the shorts look better during “normal” use around town because they aren’t so baggy as my other hiking shorts. I plan to buy another pair soon.

So comfortable
So comfortable I have been wearing them all the time. They also look really good. I'm convinced the Ferrosi material is the most comfortable, durable, lightest, least restrictive material around for bottoms. Go and get the pants and these shorts now.

Comfy but flawed
These shorts are very comfortable, have lots of stretch for mountain scrambling and biking, breathe well, and look good. Unfortunately the material doesn't seem very durable as it's already pilling along the pockets and seat. The front pockets are also too wide and shallow so items easily fall out when seated with a slight angle back (like driving or sitting up in a tent). I have 10-year-old similar shorts from a competing brand that are better in all those respects. These could be great so hopefully they'll improve them in the next design phase but I would not recommend purchasing these now if you plan to use them for a long time like I do with my apparel.
