LOVE
The fit is so good and it's stretchy in the right spots! Plus a tad bit fleece-y on the inside

Nice Biking Jacket
I really like this jacket. I'm a road biker, not a mountain biker, but it works fairly well. I like the warmth of the fabric, and the stretchiness. The zipper is generous for cooling down. I didn't give it 5 stars because I wish it had a pocket on the right side instead of the left for right-handed people, I wish there were more than 1 pocket, and the fit is slightly snug under the arms--I went up a size from my normal size and it's still not as roomy as I'd ideally want. Also armpit zippers would be a nice addition for cooling, but not a must.

its stretchy, easy to get over my head, even with a helmet on. it also fits great over my helmet. It kept me dry during a 20 minute rainstorm.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE for biking and beyond!
Can't say enough about this piece, the fit is ideal for mountain biking (spring skiing, bike commuting, running errands, traveling, etc, etc). Some pullovers can feel constricting or tight, this is the perfect fit for biking, stretchy, and roomy enough to layer underneath. The length is ideal in the torso and the arms (I'm 5'6" and ordered the small). There is a slight fleece backing, which has me grabbing this pullover for spring ski days. On top of all of that, this hoodie is durable and weather resistant, so far have worn in a light sprinkle and the hoodie nicely shed the rain drops. So stoked on this technical pullover and cannot wait to wear for all my spring adventures! I purchased the caramel color, perfect for being seen when out on the road or trail.

A great layer on a windy day
This is a great warm layer for those cooler spring/end of fall day. It's warm enough to wear a short sleeve underneath. Also fashionable/comfortable enough to wear to the post ride beer!

Versatile and instant classic OR gear
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been mountain biking for over twenty years, and have tried lots of different cycling clothes, so when I saw that OR was making a mountain bike specific clothing line, I jumped on the opportunity to be a product tester. OR hooked me up with the Women's Freewheel Half Zip hoodie for free to try for an honest review. When the hoodie arrived, the first thing that caught my eye was the Cenote color. I have a serious love for matching my other gear, and this color paired well with almost everything I wear. The hood itself was comfortable under my bike helmet, fitting snug without feeling tight and it didn't block my peripheral view. The drop tail hem was the perfect length to keep the breeze off my buns but not so long that it hooked on the back of my saddle. The material felt durable yet breathable, while being stretchy and non-restrictive. The gusseted articulated cuffs are game changers, as they didn't constrict on my wrist but stayed in place through a full range of motion. The single zipper pocket is minimal yet big enough to fit my phone or food and it's well placed on the back left side, both accessible and out of the way. Normally, a half zip is not something I would choose because I tend to over-dress and it can make it harder to change out layers on the fly, but to my surprise, this hoodie fit great over and under other tops with no issues. Worn with a thin base layer on a mild day I didn't over heat and added a flannel on a colder day to stay toasty. The weather has been variable here in the northern Midwest U.S., going from 70 degrees to 30 in the same day. The Freewheel worked great for transitioning from riding and dog walking, to nordic skiing on the same day. Much like the original OR gaiters and modular mittens, this is a piece you would have for a long time and find many activities where it will excel at keeping you comfortable on big days out on the trail.

BUY IT
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love Love LOVE this hoodie!! It is the perfect layer for comfortable party-pace biking as well as doing serious climbing in colder weather. And if the weather takes a turn and starts to bite and spit on ya? (temp drop and rain) You are protected and don't need to stop or throw on anything extra. The fabric stretches nicely with you as you move yet still keeps you warm/protected from the wind and rain while releasing heat/moisture as needed. I work full-time for the Forest Service and part-time for outdoor retail shops, so it's safe to say that I am a huge gear-head. Naturally, I'm always on the lookout for high quality, high performing and tough gear, and this hoodie would be a perfect addition to any outdoor-biker/cyclist's closet. The fit is perfect, I typically range between a small and a medium but when with a medium for layering/breathing space and I was glad I did because it worked out perfectly! I had plenty of space for movement and an easy time getting it on/off. I'm 5'4" and about 150lbs but the weight is mainly in the booty/thighs. I put it through a few washes/tumble-dry-low sessions and it didn't shrink at all, btw. The back has a drop-tail for covering your bum and the cuffs are fantastic for giving great coverage/protection from the elements while on the bike. The fabric is warm when needed and breathes super well, too. The front zipper being a half-zip is a blessing to adjust the level of heat-retention as you go. I didn't go through too much brush while wearing this so far, but I would trust it to hold up really well to abrasions and going through some gnarly sections of bike track. The zip pocket on the side... initially I was thinking I wouldn't find much use for it, but was pleasantly surprised when I kept utilizing it! It held snacks, sunglasses, chapstick, glasses-cloth and because of the security of the zipper - I trusted it most to keep my keys in. You could likely even throw a squishy water bottle in there if you so chose, I bet. The hood is comfortable to wear underneath a helmet, which surprised me, they really thought about seam placement. Bonus points: this hoodie is comfortable and cute enough to wear all day in the office until it's time to hit the trail after work!! This hoodie is for anyone who needs a technical and extremely functional layer for any kind of biking, The ONLY 2 points that I wished more for on this hoodie is a little more reflective points and a little more stretch in the forearms. I'll usually bike a few miles through town to get to the trailhead, and it would be nice to have that extra bit of safety added to it. As far as the sleeves, they aren't really stretchy enough to roll or push up - which makes pushing them to see my watch or release heat a little more challenging. P.S. Thank you to Outdoor Research, they gave me this free product to try.

Durable mid-weight jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, in full transparency, Outdoor Research gave me this free product to try in exchange for my honest review. I've used this jacket now on a few red rock desert rides in Southern Utah this February where there was wind and the highs were 45-55*. I usually run warm and found this jacket to still be a great weight to ride in at these temps. The half-zip provided enough ventilation when I needed to cool down and was comfortable enough for use during post-ride beverages as well. The trails we rode were narrow at times, with juniper and other shrubs and bushes right along the trail. I had no concerns about my jacket snagging or ripping as I occasionally caught a branch on my shoulders/arms. If anything, it allowed me to be more confident as I rode, knowing I was well-protected. The fit is consistent with the other tops I own from OR including the Echo Sun Hoodie and the Superstrand LT Hooded Jacket. I am a 16/18 and wear a 1x in OR tops. The sleeves were long enough, but not too long for my shorter arms. I carry my weight in my belly/hips and the jacket fit comfortably over my hips even as I was riding without riding up. While I didn't use the pocket while I was riding, I can see how the placement would be conducive to holding a cell phone or energy gels/chews. Overall, I highly recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a durable, well-fitting, mid-weight jacket.

Outdoor Research Never Fails!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you Expertvoice and Outdoor Research for giving me this free product to test and review!!! I have been testing products for several years and enjoy giving factual reviews. I love this hoodie!!! First off, it's comfortable and warm while riding on cool to cold days. The fabric feels nice against the skin without any irritation. The color Caramel is nice and flattering. I live in a windy area, and it did really well. Breathable but protected me from the cold air. I love the fact it is weather resistant because the weather changes so quick in the Sierra. It also held up in light rain. I took notice that it's light weight but heavy duty to the elements. I have been using the Freewheel hoodie for a month now and I have taken it all over the MTB trails and hiking trails. I have had no issues whatsoever. I love the spacious side pocket, it fits my phone, handkerchief, bar and lip balm with ease. I did size up for layering purposes, but it fits perfectly and looks really good. How good does it look; I wore it going out to dinner. It's a multi-purpose hoodie. I think Outdoor Research has quality products, this hoodie doesn't disappoint and is has the quality I expect from OR.
