Headwall GORE-TEX 3L Jacket - Men's

Sweet color!

Just received the L3 in Gold Nebula and its sweet! I'm 5'9" / 183 lbs and it fits great. Enough room for a med/heavy weight layer(s). Sleeve length is perfect, and the little catch on the back of the hood sinch keeps the hood in the right spot when not wearing a helmet. The tapered tail is just the right length yet the front zipper isn't too low. I bought this to replace a brand new North Face Summit Chamlang Futurelight Jacket, which has the worlds longest sleeves stretching two inches past my finger tips...

great 3 layer jacket, but the addition of the side zip vents that go to the bottom are genius. much more useful than under-pit zips

Lightweight and thin

Lightweight and thin. I would compare it to the Arcteryx Beta SL. I suppose modern technology allows for lighter stronger materials. As long as it's 3 layers and holds up, but we'll see.

Great Fit/Quality: Some Drawbacks

Jacket performs just as intended. So far it is durable and keeps you warm when paired with base layers. I underestimated how little stretch there is so in some positions (hunched back with arms extended forward) the jacket limits mobility. It fits well otherwise which gives me mobility in just about anything else. This jacket works well for snow sports but I'd be a little cautious doing technical climbing it it as you may find yourself limited at times.

This jacket is great. I love the full zippers on the side for venting. This jacket is great for layering and keeping me dry. Looks fantastic too.

Great Fit!

Overall the jacket feels really good and fits comfortability. This is my second shell from OR, the other being a foray 2. In comparison to the foray 2 it is definitely a bit burlier and a tad bit more crinkly. This is a 3l jacket so it's not going to be as soft as something like the foray 2. It feels very similar to a Beta AR in terms of rigidness but with a tad bit softer exterior. The construction is quality and I like the placement of the pockets. When the hood is not over the head I find it sits kind of awkwardly on the back of the neck. Hopefully, as I break the jacket in the hood will lay a bit flatter. I am 5'9 155lbs and the medium fits perfect and leaves plenty of room for layering. I was looking for a "do it all" shell and this fits the bill. I think this jacket will cover all bases for me from hiking to skiing and I can't wait to see how it performs.

Headwall Works

This jacket feels good. Nice attention to detail. The sleeves are a *titch* short for me, but I have long arms. I'm 6'2", 185lbs, with a 32" inseam. Room for a puffy underneath.

Great Color, but...

Excellent product. Perfect color...easily visible. My problem: No way to secure roll and secure hood when it isn't up.

This was a Warranty Exchange for a jacket that is no longer made. OR generously offered 2 replacements, (the other was longer), this jacket is excellent in the rain, stylish, fit is perfect, and’ll be great bombing down the slopes.
