Incredible Jacket
This jacket has performed well above expectations. It is well insulated against elements and temperature. I love how lightweight and compact the jacket is. The ability to pack and travel with the jacket makes it a must have for any adventure. This is great for anyone beginning their travel wardrobe or adding to an extensive lineup.

My son is very happy with this jacket. Lightweight but still quite warm and stylish.

This jacket is light, but very warm. My only complaint is that it has a sheen to it. I would prefer if it wasn’t so shiny. Overall, great jacket though.

Nice, Warm Jacket
This jacket has become a staple of skiing and hiking in cold weather! Since I live in the Pacific Northwest I almost always carry it in case it gets cold. It fits nicely underneath a hard or soft shell jacket. It certainly works well and does the job and I haven't had any rips or tears. I got it wet once so far and it has dried and stayed warm. The down feels soft in the puffs! I would want one with more down that's heavier if I'm going in Colder Weather but for my purposes it functions very well. It works well as a jacket that you can wear with other layers.

Major disappointment
I've got two other comparable down jackets from mt hardwear and REI. This is by far the worst. There is little to no down in these baffles. I've never seen an 800 fill power jacket with no loft and that's basically because they hardly use any down. Maybe that's OR's idea of responsibly sourced down, "no geese were harmed in the making of these jackets." Not to mention I immediately noticed poor stitching in spots. Also, it has an awkward baggy fit compared to my other down jackets. The most impressive thing about this jacket is that they are able to sell such a cheaply made piece of clothing at such a premium price. This is getting returned.

Warm and comfortable; runs a little small
This jacket is very warm for its size and packs down well when needed. Lined pockets are a nice touch if you like to put your hands in them. I'm 5'10", 165 lbs and wear a 38 suit jacket, and the Medium fits. But it FITS, there isn't much extra room. I tried it on over a hooded sweatshirt and it was a little tight. If you're close to my size and like a little extra room or anticipate wearing this over a heavy sweatshirt or fleece, I'd size up.

Like a baked potato
I have several down jackets. This one is far less bulky than the KUIU hunting jacket I own but much warmer. I ended up switching over to this one during my elk hunt. The blaze orange made the camp obsolete so figure the green OR couldn’t t hurt. The difference in warmth was real!

Light and bright
Lightweight and warm. Bright vibrant color that catches the eye. Perfect down layer for most alpine overnights or turning heads at the grocery store.

OR Men’s Helium Down Jacket: A Symphony of Lofty Wanderlust
Oh, brother, let me tell you, the OR Men’s Helium Down Jacket is the James Dean of the outdoors—light as a cloud, bold as thunder, and cooler than the other side of the sleeping bag. It’s the jacket you throw on when the world calls your name, when the mountains hum a whispered tune, when the road begs to be taken. It’s a puffer built for poets and dreamers, packed with 800-fill power down that feels like wrapping yourself in a daydream. The Pertex® Quantum shell? Windproof. Water-resistant. Practically a forcefield for the wanderer’s soul. When the drizzle hits, don’t stop believing—this jacket keeps you dry like TLC told you to not go chasing waterfalls. And brother, it weighs less than a paperback Kerouac novel, folding down so small it practically vanishes like Britney Spears in the early aughts. The Helium Down doesn’t just fit—it hugs. It’s a warm embrace on the coldest ridge, a gentle push to keep moving when the frost nips at your resolve. And with its sleek design, it’s a jacket for the trail, the town, or the edge of a canyon where you scream into the void, “Hit me, baby, one more climb!” OR’s detailing is on point. Elastic cuffs? They keep the cold out like JT kept *NSYNC tight. Zippered pockets? They’re deep enough to store your hands, a flask, and all your Complicated Avril Lavigne feelings. And the drawcord hem? Oh, it seals the deal like Shaggy saying, “It wasn’t me.” But here’s the kicker, man: this jacket doesn’t just warm your body—it sparks your soul. It says, “Keep moving forward. Seek the summit. Find the song.” It’s the Helium Down, and it’s light enough to float, strong enough to last, and warm enough to turn a snowstorm into your dance floor. So take the OR Helium Down Jacket and set your spirit free. Because life’s too short to live in the gray, and this jacket? It’s the technicolor dreamcoat that’ll carry you to the top of the world and back. Don’t stop poppin’ (down), and may your adventures always be warmer than yesterday.

OR Helium Down Jacket
It’s definitely warm and comfortable. I like the soft felt lining in the neck area. It’s a light/medium weight down jacket. I take this jacket with me to the snow and wear it in the winter mostly when it gets into the 40s and below. The fit is a little bit on the tight side. I got it in black, it’s not too shiny, has a nice matte color. It has been pretty durable so far after several months of use.
